OH was born in Castleford (different coloured rose I know but same traits!) and the description of a mule comes to mind. One of those irregular adjectives:

@Ante1 this year must be proving extremely hard for you with your small holding. I hope the rains come soon and at least the cooler weather. It's so draining being in constant high heat all the time.
I have noticed my grape hyacinths have got some leaves popping through, most odd, at this time of year.
It's lovely and sun here, not too hot( sorry) but we're off to a g/c on the hunt for John Innes No 2....can't find any locally. Our cyclamen needs potting on but it's got its new leaves and flowers curls coming so must do it soon.
SGL I'll bet that you have had a wonderful, busy day with all the family. Did you go for a walk to the duckpond? I also bet you won't need rocking tonight and you'll have a really good sleep.
SGL and Ruby, I didn't go to meet up with family today I had a bit of tidying up to do. Mission accomplished and I've just finished doing some watering in the back garden. In for the evening now.
Ante, your tomato sauce sounds lovely. In the middle of winter just the taste of it will take you back to this long hot summer. Did you say that you were making jam from your grapes the other day? I have never thought of grape jam.

Oh no! Another comfy armchair Hazel? Glad it has arrived though as you seemed to have been waiting a while for it. You will only know its comfy if your OH drops to sleep in it. Your grape hyacinths are a bit early but I'm sure that you will still get a good show in Spring.
Biglad, how did you get on with shed duty? I think I told every one that mine is coming down this late Autumn/Winter. Must get the last few things in it moved out and into the garage.

Ante, my day has been good. I am still planning the new border. I should have been a bit more careful deciding where to plant my ferocious rambling roses when I first got them as they do their very best to shred me and my clothes every time I go passed them so I am going to re-locate them to the hedge at the bottom of the garden. They are so beautiful I do not want to just throw them away. They will get a second chance down there and they can grow up through the other shrubs. I finished off doing a bit of watering myself and now I am finished for the day.

Morning everyone, Quite cloudy this morning, although I can see a teeny tiny bit of sun trying to peek through. Feels cooler this morning too. Feels like autumn is on the way already. What happened to the heatwave we were supposed to get this week.
Having a relaxing day today. Mght do a bit of weeding, they seem to have popped up again. Have a lovely day everyone.
