only about 25% of the electorate voted us out of the EU.
Before the last referendum in Scotland , Brown and Cameron were both up there promising all sorts of extra goodies if they stayed in the Union. I'm not sure much changed after. The Scots voted over 60% to stay in EU but have dragged out against their will. They've also had new Tridents forced on them even thought most didn't want it.
I'd not be surprised if a lot of Scots who voted to stay in the union are pretty peeved to say the least and have indeed changed their minds.
Scotland's population equates to 8.3% of the UK, so any subsidised item will have to be funded by the 8.3% assuming responsibility for what is currently being contributed by the other 91.7%. Borders and Dumfries & Galloway were 60% plus pro-Brexit, so will they be allowed to remain in the UK? Independence = disaster?

lots more in London voted to remain, than leave, but they didn't get to stay, so D&G won't get any special favours methinks
As I recall, @nick615 voted Brexit and then moved to Ireland to keep the benefits of living in the EU so has no integrity here.
What I'd like to know is if/when NI votes to unite with Ireland and leave the Union, will that mean an end to the agreement where the irish have the right to live and work in the UK and vice versa?
As for Liz Truss, she's a nightmare for many reasons but so is t'other fella for different reasons. I can't see either going down well in Scotland.

OK. My info was gleaned from the Internet but, if wrong, my apologies. Interestingly, though, I've quoted the fact in the past without challenge. For Obelixx, moved to IE in 2007. Referendum was nine years later. Let's leave it there? Too big a subject.
Truss sums up everything I hate about the Tories. Selfish, out of touch with the vast majority of the population and don't give a toss about poor people. " I'm all right, stuff the poor "

And then on the other hand we have Rishi who brags about having no working class friends and funnelling money from areas of deprivation to Tunbridge Wells...
"What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour".
Much as I dislike this bunch of Tories, is that actually what Rishi said?I thought he was saying that levelling up applied everywhere. It is not a case of a line drawn across a map - a north south divide - or whether the area was urban or countryside - but how deprived the area was.

Sorry, but you are wrong about the Brexit vote where I live in Scottish Borders.
It was 37,952 remain and 26,962 leave.
