A successful spreading of the ashes yesterday, really a fairly joyous occasion, followed by lunch at an old family favourite, the pub where I had my first pint, more than a few years ago. Lots of hugs for @Hostafan1
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
@Hostafan1 by your 12th anniversary, you'll be able to think of the happy times. For now, just keep on keeping on. You'll get through it, for the sake of those gorgeous grandkids, you have to
strange day for me today. We're going to a wedding but the day is exactly like another wedding I went to 34 years ago which now is tainted with very sad and bitter memories. clear blue skies, a slightly cool edge to the air but the sun is very warm. At least this time I don't have to wear peach satin - be grateful for small mercies, I suppose

I’m glad you like that Eucalyptus, Dove. It was there when we bought the land and had the house built just up hill from it. I haven’t bothered to identify which species it is, but the parrots love it.
Morning everyone, it seems we have much the same weather as you Dove. Yesterday we kept getting dark clouds rolling over but no rain of course. A bit of better news here, my old pal Tommy at the Allotments, has been able to return. He has some troubles recently but got the all clear to return from the Medics at Royal Free. He's normally there every day but I think he realises he may have to take it a bit easier, he has 2 full plots and at 85 I am amazed at how much he does.
So very sorry to read your sad news @Hostafan1. I'm no good with words at times like this but will say that, although not long on this forker thread, I have been a lurker for many years and I well remember and enjoyed reading the posts about the life the two of you shared, especially the holidays when you hurried abroad chasing the sun and hot weather. But this is what memories are made of and the memories will always remain with us. May your memories be special and comfort you at this sad time. My thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with you. Look after yourself.
