I love the Selector @punkdoc! And I was at a gig that the Specials played before they were famous in a pub in London (the Hope & Anchor?). They were just brilliant. I too have been tying up, feeding and removing leaves from my tomatoes this morning @tui34. My hands still smell of tomato, despite scrubbing. Quite pleasant. We haven't seen Grease either @Hostafan1 - just bits of it. Sort of know the story. But Saturday Night Fever - loooved that! The agenda for today is: deadheading, a bit of ironing (I know! But it's stuff I want to wear!), then an In Bloom meeting to decide when the baskets have to come down and the winter bedding ordered. Don't want the summer to be over, even if it is too hot.
Grease is joyous. The source of so many film cliches that followed. You should definitely watch it some time, hosta.
If it comes on tv before we come to visit @Hostafan1, record it ... and then if you don't get around to watching it before we arrive, we'll watch it with you and sing along and teach you all the moves and EVERYTHING!!! It was the absolute favourite with all the youngsters at the Special Youth Club I used to help at ... they could all do all of it totally unprompted and unaided ... and often did ... and sometimes they'd cast us adults too ... talk about having to shed my inhibitions 🤣

I watched Saturday night fever a couple of years ago. Methinks it hasn't aged well.
neither has John Travolta. Grease is a much more ensemble film and the music is more fun - I've nothing against the Bee Gees, you understand. But Grease is a better musical than SNF

The two don't really compare IMHO

1. pouring myself into Sandy's leather trousers ... and
2. the fact that I've always seen myself more as Rizzo ... you have to admit, I'm more of a Stockard Channing than ONJ
3. OH might have to practice JT's camp butchness, or was it butch campness ...?
Hmm, that's three problems ... and then there's the ensemble pieces ... there's even a sort of Greek Chorus ...
