Good morning Ante. It must have been very tempting to stay up in the hills yesterday but you would have had a pet riot if you had done so! I hope it is not too unbearable shopping in the city and that you find all the necessary seeds in the GC.
    Have a great day yourself!

    Morning all,

'Only' up to 23 yesterday and 27 today, apparently. Good as she is, Sara Blizzard giving the local weather forecast isn't really appropriate at the moment ;) Never mind Phil McCann moving from reporting on fuel shortages to water shortages :DΒ

Afternoon all. Sorry I've been AWOL for a few days. Been feeling a bit down about the state of the garden and trying to decide whether it's worth persisting with the front garden. Won't make any firm decisions until autumn or next spring but it meant I've not felt much like chatting.Β

Chive - a big belated congratulations to you and your hubby. I hope you're really enjoying this well earned special holiday and you have some fun times with your son and girlfriend.

LB - the neighbours cats quite like to come round to be entertained by my gardening antics. One of them, in particular, sneaks up very quietly before winding round my legs. Makes me jump and often results in a tumble. He walks away with a flick of his tail and a huge smirk all over his face.

Ante - I have no idea how you are continuing to work and cope with the temps, drought and other problems you've endured this year. Hats off to you.

On which note - I've been cutting out yet more brown and dead stuff this morning but it's now about 29C so I've come in for lunch and a shower. We have an amber heat warning for 4 days from early tomorrow with temps into the low thirties. OH is busy tomorrow but Friday morning we're packing up the camper van and heading to a little campsite with lots of trees to sit under and a swimming pool to roll into and we'll stay there until Sunday pm.

Debs - I'll take some of your ice cream with me if that's ok?....

Hi folks, another scorcher.Β  Been busy sorting out clothes this morning, getting rid of some and trying on stuff that I couldn't get into before I lost 2.5 stones.Β  I have some white jeans that I want to get into, reckon at least another stone.
Popped to Ashwoods for a cuppa with my friend and then home to cool off in the sitting room.Β  Definitely too hot to garden, will just be watering tonight.Β  Hope everyone has a good day.

Good afternoon everyone. Cat duties this morning were a little fraught as I only saw one cat - the nomad cat was nowhere to be seen. This happened last time and all was fine when Jack's daughter came home so fingers crossed. The food has been eaten so that is probably a good sign. I spent a couple of hours with Jack - in his back garden again but no green woodpecker today. I could hear the 'mewing' of a buzzard though. We have a couple of pairs of them close by.
So sorry that the garden situation is getting you down T'Bird. I would be the same though. We may all have to re-assess our gardens if the present weather is what we must learn to accept in the future.
Yvie, well done on your weight loss. That is a great achievement. I will be watering tonight as well.
