Good morning everyone .Its raining here too LB .Enjoy your supermarket trip . Chive I hope you get all you need at the sm . I am very sleepy ,need tea .
Woke up in the comfy armchair at about 4am Went to bed but couldn't get back to sleep as a to do list was forming! Also, a few glum thoughts. So I went to get the milk in. An hour and a half later the brown bin was a bit fuller, I'd had a chat with the breakfast diner on the back lawn, checked on my fruit and absorbed some dahlia joy.
All is now well in the world and ticks are forming on that to do list
Morning everyone, It feels much cooler this morning. Not raining here, but very overcast. Didn't sleep well last night and now feel very tired. I'll join you in a cup of tea @Rubee @Busy-Lizzie so sorry you're feeling a bit down. But as @Ladybird4 says it's understandable with OH appointment being cancelled again and not being with each other. Is it next week you are going back to Norfolk? @Ladybird4 hope you get everything at the SM especially Lily's treats. @Chivetalking hope you get all you need at the SM too, don't forget any items for your holiday. I might go later too, need a few items.
Hello everyone. Been awol for a bit and when I look there are so many posts I feel reluctant to jump back in but have decided to take the plunge.
We have had a very busy and rather difficult time lately but things are improving slightly now. I have changed my hours at work and starting to feel less exhausted and fiancé is coming to the end of his 7 day weeks at work as the wedding season calms down.
Reading back looks like a mammoth task but hope all are well and spending time in their garden.
Nice pics @Biglad - your blackbird looks very happy. It's been a while since I saw a bird with a worm - the worms have all disappeared deep, deep into the soil. We have a couple of robin families in the garden and they get very excited when I open the compost bin which is full of brandlings.
BL - very understandable why you're feeling down. I don't know what to suggest beyond contacting one of the patient support groups (PALS ?) to see if they have any useful suggestions. I hate making a fuss like that but, sometimes, just the fact you've made contact can make 'whoever' think twice before introducing yet another delay.
It looks like yet another very hot, dry day again. 30C yesterday and same forecast for today. Yet again we have the strong, swirling, dessicating winds and, yet again, I really feel like throwing in the towel with the garden. To keep it looking halfway decent I really need to spend hours watering which I cannot afford in terms of either time or money. Feeling very fed up with it all.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hi @debs64 🙋♀️ good to see you. I have been wondering how you are and mentioned the other day we hadn't seen you. Hope everything will continue to improve for you and your new working hours work out well. Have you got any new plants in your greenhouse, hope George is behaving himself. Take care, enjoy your day.
Hello @star gaze lily I picked the first tomato from the greenhouse today… delicious! And I have 2 melons growing well.
@Topbird we once again have drizzle here. Warm and sticky and raining not my favourite weather but we have definitely not suffered from drought as so many others on the forum have so should try not to complain.
Morning all. Migraine for a few days but settling down. Had a lovely sleep in. Alfie very affectionate this morning and enjoying breakfast and treats. Chive the sun is shining and warming. Lily hope oh feels a little stronger and hope you have slept. Biglad what a super dahlia, lovely picture. LB don’t work too hard, there’s always another day. Still half a sleep. Enjoy your day everyone.
Home grown tomatoes definitely taste nicer @debs64 We haven't got a greenhouse, but our shed is a 'potting' shed so has a lovely big window and a bench table running along the whole length under the window. We have our tomato plants in there. There's loads of tomatoes growing, we've had 3 tomatoes 🍅 so far and yes as you say, delicious. We've grown plum tomatoes this year. Hi @Topbird didn't see you earlier. I agree about watering the garden. We're on a meter and I'm trying to be careful when watering. They keep forecasting rain, but apart from the hour of rain the other day, I don't think we had any all July. Grass is getting balder by the day. Just trying to keep the flowers alive. Hydrangea flowers are rather crisp. 😕
