Good morning Busy, SGL and Ruby. Garden is looking better as it did suffer in the bit of heat we had. The Katsura tree is still nude! I have also spotted the first signs of Autumn colouring in some of the other tree leaves. Astonished Face on Samsung

  • Morning all.  Raining today and rather autumnal.  I watched Kate Bush in concert last night, rather enjoyed it, some beautiful lyrics.  Just having a cup of tea and Alfie’s sittting on one arm of the sofa.  I’ve put his food down and he spend the day sleeping and grazing.  Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning Rosie. I have to say that Lily is very much like Alfie - sleeping; grazing and sleeping again. I wonder if cats dream?

Good Morning LB, Busy, SGL, Rubee & Rosie and all to follow,
LB Glad it wasn’t raining like that for you yesterday, but when there are boring things to be done indoors it helps to have a really wet day 😊
Busy Good news you are not on water restrictions yet, take it steady with those logs especially in that heat,
SGL Glad you got your bedding dry I hope you both slept well last night in your nice fresh bed, having a day in between the sessions sounds better for your OH next week 😊
Rubee Sounds like you’ve been very busy recently what with unblocking sinks, I hope you get a chance to rest today,
Rosie Alfie sounds very comfortable on the arm of the couch, Kate Bush has done some fantastic songs I like her music,
Topbird Your home must be looking very neat with all the work you have both done, a lot of satisfaction from doing things like that,
We are taking food to mums today for a family dinner, it’s easier for us all to meet there.
Hope you have a good day everyone.

Morning all. Once it gets to 10am we'll fire up the cherry picker ready to do the back wall of the house. It's a tad anti-social to start it before then on a Sunday. First job with it is actually to reduce the leader on one of the crab apple trees and remove another wayward branch. Tricky jobs to do from the ground or a step ladder - much easier when you can be transported to the right height!

LB - enjoy doing the unmentionables. Really wish we could get at least half the rain you do. It would make life much easier.

Hope lunch with mum is lots of fun Chive.

SGL - does your grass look like mine?

The achillea type weeds don't seem to mind the dry and the ground is like concrete so the grass is bearing up well to having a cherry picker driven over it!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Morning all,

That resembles all the grass I saw on my London trip @Topbird. A remarkable difference between the different regions within a relatively small country. Meanwhile my water butt is full and the garden lush. Crazy. Mind you, the boot will probably be on the other foot when it comes to the worst of the winter weather  :(

Possibly tempting fate but I think I've finished the job that refused to end. Handover tomorrow :) Now, how has the garden been doing after 5 months of neglect...

It certainly does @Topbird same shade of brown,  with bald patches too. With the odd weed that's bright green, always find it strange that the weeds still pop through bright green 😂 Have fun with the cherry picker, do you go up in it too. Much better than lugging ladders about.
Have a lovely day with your mum and family @Chivetalking Your mum will love being spoilt with Sunday lunch.
@Ladybird4 Ooh unmentionables, watch out for Col TT 😉
@wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 getting a bit breezy here, send some of your rain please. Hope you're sleeping better now.
@Rubee hope OH is feeling better after his fall during the week. How are you too Rubee.
Hope @debs64 is ok, not seen her post this week.
We're getting a bit thin on the ground.

Oops sorry @Biglad you weren't there just now.
Our water butts are completely empty.  Glad you have finished the latest job, bet you're relieved it's done and you can hand it all in tomorrow. Will you have some spare time now for your garden or is there another job in the pipeline. Enjoy your time in the garden today though.

Hi folks,  Nice and sunny here but we had rain in the night and I'm sure the garden appreciated it.  Planning an afternoon in the garden after a long lie in this morning.
    Enjoy your day everyone.
