As I was disqualified from selection to referee the final on at least 3 counts, I'm not sure my opinion would count for much @Topbird ;)

Sounds like you had a lovely family day @Busy-Lizzie. Your sons car sounds great. I would love a ride in that and then find somewhere by a river to eat all the delicious food in the picnic basket.Β
@Topbird must be very satisfying now you have finished......well apart from the windows.... your mammoth clean.Β

    Good evening everybody.
Chive, a great idea to have a family 'meet' at your Mum's. She will have loved the company. I love the sound of your sister's orange drizzle cake. I had some home made (not by me I hasten to add) orange curd last week and, as you say, it makes a lovely alternative to the usual lemon variety.
Good grief T'Bird. Your poor lawn looks like the Sahara desert! I am so pleased to hear that it IS the lawn that has bald patches but I think i would have them if I had had to suffer so little water - pulling my hair out in despair. Congratulations on getting the house scrubbed and polished - well aside from the windows and the dodgy light replaced.
SGL, I managed to dodge Col TT.
Biglad, I'm glad that the job is ready for the handover and now you can concentrate on your garden tasks.
Ruby, I did actually watch the Final today and even though I prefer rugby, like T'Bird, I enjoyed the game - it was the old rivalry. I did decide, when it got to extra time, that it wasn't very good for my blood pressure as I was stressed out with the tension and I'm so pleased that England won.
The last time I was in London was coming back from Australia so I was only in transit to get a train for oop North. The underground was hideous and getting onto the train to head North was a welcome relief. I would only go to London to go to Twickenham unless it was during a non holiday time and even then I doubt I'd be keen. I dislike cities apart from the marvellous architecture, buildings and museums - which Manchester is nice for.
Busy, what a lovely distraction from your log lumping tasks today. You had a drive in a super car too.
