Good Morning Rubee, Busy & Biglad, SGL OH and I are away for two weeks, son & his girlfriend are joining us for the 2nd week. Hope you have a successful trip to the shops, Rubee That sounds like a lovely start to the day, I wouldn’t want to move 😊 Busy Hope the apple tree pruning isn’t too awkward for you to do and you find some nice replacements for the lights and a shelf at the store this afternoon, LB Oh no good job you spotted the little intruder, hope you can deter anymore from coming in 🐭 Son will look after Nel until he flies out, then she goes to the Cattery. We are staying on the island of Kefalonia, we have a few places we’d like to visit there but mainly just want to enjoy the surroundings and unwind, Really sad to see the news of the little girl, there are no words for a crime like that.
Biglad Sounds like you’ve got a good day planned in the garden, pleased you’ve had such a good crop of blueberries and more to come 🫐 Enjoy your day everyone.
Busy cleaning all the windows - they're absolutely filthy outside after pressure washing the render but I'm determined to be a martyr and do both inside and out. Just over half way through and I'm bored as heck. Must plough on though - I'll be glad when it's done.
@Chive - how lovely to be going to Greece. The sea will be blue, calm and warm - bliss! We've done a couple of sailing holidays in the Ionian and spent a night moored in the harbour at Fiskardo (on Cephalonia) both holidays. I think it was my favourite place on those holidays. Very busy, bustling, pretty little harbour with some decent restaurants.
If you get the chance, go and bag a table by the water's edge for an afternoon when some of the flotillas are coming in. Sit with a nice cold beer and enjoy the entertainment as inexperienced sailors attempt to drop / secure anchors on a rocky, heavily ploughed seabed or try rafting up for the first time when there are no places left to moor. Quite a bit of shouting and a fair amount of stomping to the other end of the boat happens.
We may have been part of that entertainment one year as we tried 4 times to drop anchor and just couldn't get it to grip🤭😎
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Love Kefalonia. We had a great holiday there. Hi everyone. Lovely day here blue sky with white fluffy clouds, a nice breeze and not too hot. Perfect. Popped to Ashwoods this morning and came back with Heucherella and a persicara for the shady area I cleared yesterday. Will be going to plant them in a minute after a nice cuppa. Good luck with the pruning Busy.
Afternoon, feel like I’ve earned a tea break, @Topbird I was sold just on the mention of a nice cold beer 😊 but that sounds like a very nice afternoons entertainment, we are staying in Pessada but will have use of a car during our stay. You are on a mission to get those windows finished, nearly there! must reward yourself with a cold drink at the end 🍸 Yvie Lovely plant purchases and a very nice day to get in the garden, wanted to say that I saw the photos of yours on the other thread and it looks beautiful, Have a good afternoon.
I'm so angry, upset and disappointed for OH. He arranged to go back to Norfolk for his operation, which was then cancelled for the 5th time. Then they made an appointment to see the surgeon tomorrow so OH said it wasn't a wasted trip after all. Now they have cancelled that appointment and made another for the 20th September He could have stayed in France with me and we would have gone back together on the 17th August for our friend's big birthday party. I am beginning to despair that he will ever have his hip replacement. His right leg is now really skinny and shorter than the other and he's in pain a lot of the time.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Afternoon all. Good grief Busy. I feel angry and frustrated for both you and your OH. You may have already researched this but just in case you haven't had time yet, it is a link to a page where you can complain to the Health Service Ombudsman.
T'Bird, I hope that you have managed to get the boring jobs complete. I'll bet we would be able to see Chez T'Bird beaming up at us if we were in space! Lovely to hear your tales of the Greek Islands and I smiled at you chucking your anchor overboard and it refusing to 'lock in' to the ocean floor!
Chive make the most of your first week. At least when your son joins you you will be able to make sure he doesn't 'lose' anything!
Yvie, my fairly recent persicarias are just coming into flower - for the first time in my garden - now. I have a red one and a white one. The white one is huge - 3 times as big as the red one.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Evening everyone, managed to get up to date on the hot flat thing pile this afternoon so that’s good, Oh @Busy-Lizzie that is devastating news and completely unacceptable treatment of your OH, there must be a way to escalate this and get some action it’s disgraceful 🤬 I can’t imagine how your OH must be feeling, to be let down so many times ☹️
LB Yes I will be checking for all belongings before we leave 😀 have a nice evening, hope you sleep well. I’m signing out too, see you all tomorrow.
