Thank you @Chivetalking, @star gaze lily and @Songbird-1. The plane was 30 mins late which means OH will miss his train and will have to get the one an hour later. Luckily our friend who is meeting him answered the phone and says it's OK.

I'm off to the garden, never ending weeding.

Rosie, I think that this must be the 'in' test for this season. In May I had my first blood test done with a request to have a repeat test 3 months later - hence making the appointment this morning. My cholesterol and sugar levels were raised - nothing I needed to take anything for but obviously I have tried to be extremely good for the last three months and am hoping to be back to normal next month. I've also got to weigh myself and do a blood pressure reading to take in with me. I reckon DIY medicals could be on the cards from now on
p.s. I use the other plant stanol things that start with a B.

Evening everyone, we finally had some proper rain hope it’s found it’s way to Topbirds garden 😗
LB SM shelves seemed ok though I ended up going much later than intended, hope Lily doesn’t learn of her potential treat shortage 🫢
SGL I’m sure you’ve had a lovely time with the poppets today 🤗 hope you’ll get a better nights sleep tonight,
Hazel Pleased that you & OH are feeling better today and were able to get out for some fresh air, shame about your tomatoes,
Rosie Hope you managed to chose the coats that could go to the pod, I really should try to do the same. Glad you found what you needed to order online, hope the new spread helps to keep the cholesterol level down,
Busy Sorry to hear OH had a delay on his flight back, hope he met up with his friend ok on arrival,
Signing out for tonight, Goodnight everyone.

Busy, it seems that all methods of transport seem to be struggling at the moment. The buses round me are still not running. It will be nice for your OH that he had a friend to meet and greet.
SGL, I bet you've had a lovely giggly time with the Poppets this afternoon. Perhaps you will have a good sleep tonight.
Hazel, you have had a gentle work out in the garden today moving your blue grass. I hope that it flourishes for you.
I am signing out for tonight. See everyone in the morning.

Evening all. Been busy brushing down the house render, doors and window frames and cleaning outside lights today. Getting ready for a cherry picker arriving on Friday for a week so we can clean the render, gutters and soffits. Very boring but hopefully the house will look a bit sprucer when it's all done.

Chive - good to hear you had some proper rain. We had a light sprinkle for about 10 mins this afternoon which evaporated almost as soon as it hit the ground. Won't have done any good at all I'm afraid. On a more positive note it's quite a bit cooler and the horrid swirling wind has dropped.

LB - there were quite a few spaces on the shelves when I visited W'rose on Sunday but there were also notices explaining that a fire at the main distribution centre has caused supply chain problems. There were some notable price rises too!

Rubee - I hope your OH is recovering from his fall - it does sound like a bad one. Thoughts and best wishes for you both.

Hazel - good to hear you're feeling better.

Rosie - Glad you enjoyed your glass of port. I enjoy port with some nice cheese.

SGL & Ante - hope you both get a better night tonight.

BL - Hope your OH has arrived home safely. Just as well he wasn't travelling tomorrow with the big rail strikes!

I'm off to bed now. Need to find anew book to read. Might see if I can download one of LB's recommendations.

PS - Well done the Lionesses!! Good luck for Sunday.

    Good morning to all.

We had one short shower yesterday. It's not much but I'm grateful for small mercies. At least the air is fresher and I slept much better last night. I'll go later to cottage and see what is happening there. Little cat is still at vet and condition is unchanged.

    Wish you all nice day.

    Hello one and all.
Hi Ante. Hope that you have a better day today. A little rain is better than none but I keep my fingers crossed your veggies get some more and soon. It will be nice to hear how little cat is doing each day. Hopefully by the weekend he may be back with you and his friends.

Gosh T'Bird. You and your OH were busy bees yesterday. The thought of tackling a job like that makes me blanch. I do confess to loving cleaning my gutters out but they are only one storey up and with the famous ladders I had all the hoo-ha (Ante = fuss or commotion) about several years back, it is an easy task.
Nice to hear you had a lovely day SGL. Is it Pilates for your OH today?

    Good morning LB.

Suddenly it got very dark and I can hear thunders. Finger crossed for rain.
