Hello there SGL and all to follow. Poor you SGL, I hope that you managed to get back and grab a few more 💤 Shame about the purple but I'm glad you are pleased with your haircut.
Busy, I hope that your OH's trip home today goes smoothly. Will he get snarled up in the chaos at the ports or is he flying?
Ante, I hope that you are feeling less exhausted and stressed today and that the rains come (you can have some of mine!).
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
SGL, I didn't sleep well either. It was too hot and humid.
LB and T'bird, I went to sleep early so didn't see your posts till now, sorry. We think that didn't car hit him, because injury is very localized and car would do much more damage. He probably fell from tree or wall, or maybe it happened in play with other cats.
LB, please send me some rain. If we don't get some rain this week, few of my veggies is over. Sun is simply too strong and leaves are yellow and brownish.
One again I have ice tea. It was hard night to rest and sleep. We don't remember last time when was so high temperatures and drought. In some region, especially Dalmatia, we have water reduction.
Good morning everyone .Lily I hope you are fast asleep now . LB is it still raining at yours ? You seem to get more than most of us . Ante I do hope you have managed some rest .Busy I hope all goes well today .My OH had a bad black out yesterday morning . I found him under a pile of outdoor clothes in the porch. He had blacked out and pulled the coats and the hooks and baton that the hooks were fastened to on top of himself .He is quite sore this morning .No bones broken but 79years old he is quite shocked .
I hope your cat makes a good recovery @Ante1 and I hope it rains soon.
Thank you for the good wishes for OH's journey to Norfolk today. He will be flying. He's ordered assistance so they will take him to the plane in a wheel chair and collect him in a wheelchair at Stanstead. There is a train station at Stanstead. A friend will collect him from Thetford. I will miss him but I will join him in 3 weeks. He is seeing the surgeon next week.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good Morning SGL, LB, Ante, Rubee & Busy and all to follow, SGL Sorry to see you were awake so early I hope you managed to get back to sleep, pleased you like your haircut 😊 LB Hope your whole day is not hindered by the rain, it must be looking nice and green in your garden,

Morning everyone, Did nod off again for a little while. Will have a lazy morning, going to see the poppets this afternoon. @Ante1 sorry to hear you didn't sleep well either. Have a restful day. Hope your little cat gets well soon.
@Rubee so sorry to read that your OH had a nasty fall yesterday. What a shock for you both. Hope he isn't in too much pain today. He's probably got some bad bruising. Hope you both can have a restful day. Take care, sending very best wishes and hugs. @Busy-Lizzie Hope all goes well with OH journey today. The help at the airport will give you a little peace of mind. Lovely that a friend is meeting him the other end. @Ladybird4 hope the weather improves for you and you get some sunshine 🌞 It's a bit overcast here this morning. @Chivetalking hope the SM trip is successful and not too busy. Hope you can enjoy your garden today. Need another cup of tea.
Ante, I have just heard on TV that drought is now being mentioned for some of the southern areas of UK and the dreaded hosepipe bans have been spoken about. I feel so sorry for you after all of your hard work getting your veggies in the ground and the fact that you are getting little rest at night because of the high temperatures. Our heat wave lasted about 2 days here in the North West of England and the hysteria that provoked was laughable. I am sadder for the people in our drier areas as, like you, they have been hard hit. I wonder when we will all have to start growing cacti in our gardens?
Ruby, I was so sad to hear about your OH and what an enormous fright that must have been for you both. I hope that both of you are taking the time to rest and recover.
Chive - enjoy your SM dash today. I was quite shocked yesterday to see all of the empty shelves and freezers in my 'sco. There was an absence of Lily's favourite Temptations too (ssshhhhh!) and small labels along many of the shelves apologising for the gaps and advising new deliveries are expected on August 3rd.
BTW, I also meant to add that yesterday I didn't notice any disturbance to my VM services but now, when I sign into my email there is a whole new look. I am now asked every time if I want to set up 'face identification' or a 'fingerprint' ID for extra security. On my laptop - yeah right! I have experienced the 'fingerprint' ID on my mobile and eventually scrapped it as it kept informing me that MY fingerprint (set up by me!) was incorrect. I do not access email on my mobile so VM can keep asking.

Chive, hope you will find everything you need at SM, and your shelves will be packed.
LB, I already can grow cacti all year round. You will know better, but few years ago I watched documentary about climate change. One part was about UK, and how nobody considered to grow wine tree or produce wine there. Today you have many vineyards and winerys. I should probably think about growing date or coconut palms🤣.
I'll make simple lunch today, pasta with pesto, one of my favorite dishes.
I've just booked my car in for its first ever service and booked a repeat blood test as requested by the Practice. Honestly, you would have thought that I was asking for access to the security codes for Fort Knox! Had the same old 'forgot my password - email me a link to create a new one' situation. Anyway its done now so I have made a note on my calendar. I hope that my sensible (boring!) eating has worked wonders - if not I'll just return to decadence.

Ante sad to hear one of your pets in unwell, hope your visit to the vets is of help, wishing the damaged rib soon heals well, Rosie. LB with all the kneeling from my furry friend on his lap visits I think I’m rather porous. Yes the port was very warming and makes me giggle a little. Top bird I’m definitely planning to ge a beautiful cat in the next life. Hazel so glad to hear you and oh feeling on the mend. Lily hope you’ve had a good rest. Chive just trying on some old coats today to see what needs to go to the pod and an online food order. Managed to order my furry friends food and dreamies. Doc says cholesterol up so to replace with flora proactive and should be fine in 2-3 weeks. Hope all is well with you. Light rain earlier. Wishing everyone a good day.
