@GardenerSuze ..I admit to having watered those a little, over the last few weeks. My soil is sandy and bone dry... but they've coped well in between waterings.. ..here's what the lower leaves look like..
@Marlorena Thank you that is interesting to see, a little distressed as I am sure you will agree but the flowers still look good. I have been watering soil as my main concern has been next years snowdrops. Just hope the bulbs haven't dried out.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
Nepeta ‘Purrsian Blue’ fluffing up after being completely cut to the ground earlier this month (after all the flowers had turned brown). The plants seemed to enjoy baking in the recent heatwave beside the pavement, in a south-facing aspect with unrelenting sun.
@Marlorena, I put old metal hanging baskets upside down over clumps of nepeta, secured each side with metal pins, saves the crown from getting rolled on/eaten. Once the plant has grown, you can hardly see them.
