Hummingbird Hawk Moth makes sense looking at it, thanks so much..
.. pretty little Sissyrinchium, and Persicaria, not seen those before. I'm not keen on the usual yellow type, striatum.. and the big Persicarias need too much space, pity because I like them a lot.. Stachys hummelo I need, it's really nice..
@Loxley Lovely to see Sisyrinchium Biscutella with grasses I am going to steal your idea thank you. Think I am going to grow some more of the small ones.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
..hot colours for fiery times... Hemerocallis 'Stafford'... I find Gaura 'Pink Dwarf' very attractive... in full blazing sun.. Petrorhagia 'Pink Starlets', very useful for hot dry gravel gardens.. ...this Dragonfly flew in to shelter under clematis leafage.. I've just noticed a yellow insect with black spots to the right, no idea what that is..
I spent most of my time in January digging out this new border. Most of the plants are small so decided to fill the spaces with Cosmos Rubenza. Bottom right is Campanula Chloe, didn't think it was going to flower but it came into bud early July. I have also planted Stipa Gold Fontane at the far end, which should start to come into it's own next year.

@Marlorena The path is block paved not easy to see in the strong sunlight. I am thinking about adding a gravelled area in front of the bench but is just an idea at the moment.
The plant next the right of the bench is Sanguisorba Cangshan Cranberry, planted through an obelisk[most climbing plants such as clematis hate this soil] so thought I would try this instead. It is now 7ft plus, no idea how it has grown so tall this year. Most plants don't make expected heights in this garden It is about to flower if it can cope with the weather.
On both sides of the path I have Ophiopogon Nigrescens to tie the two borders together.
Cosmos Rubenza is a wonderful plant that I can really recommend
