Hello all, I know it's late, but after a busy day this is the perfect place to winddown.

Caribbean night was a huge success, eternally grateful to @Dovefromabove and @WonkyWomble for tips regarding Jerk Chicken. Everyone loved it, absolutely full house tonight, French, English, Dutch. And a record breaking day too.

Next Friday is a French evening, charcuterie and pâte de pommes de terre. Nearly booked up already. I do have a French patisserie making the pies for me. I'll be doing the Clafoutis myself though.

Some pics from tonight,... Better than my poor garden shots.

Sorry @d@Dovefromabove, no food shots, was all too hectic and the 5 portions I'd left for the staff to eat, where I was going to take photos, got sold to a walk-in four, who were so grateful to find a table free they'd have eaten anything.

Anyway, they all danced after food and had a great time.

Hugs to all that need/deserve them. 💖💖💖

Morning everyone. We’re freezing here. Hubby’s gadget measured minus 6.4c this morning. Frosty grass everywhere.  I don’t think I’ll bother with the washing today. My fingers will freeze hanging them on the line. Maybe tomorrow. 🙄😳

Pixel snuggled into my tummy  on the bed when I was to trying to talk myself to get up. Rather comforting. 😁

sorry I haven’t read back for a couple of days. Must do it soon before July ends.

Morning all, I'm up very early for a change, couldn't sleep, it seems very hot already.
Had a hectic day yesterday, spent the morning digging out yet another old box stump as it was in the way of planting my two new 'Elizabeth' roses in their terracotta pots. Decided to pot them rather than plant them in the ground as I thought the nearby hedge roots might impede them. Pleased with the result.

Then it was another quick shower and tidy up before our friends came back from Swanage to stay the night again on their way home. Fortunately they didn't arrive till 4 pm so I was able to have a quick rest. We then took them out to dinner at an Indian restaurant in town. Rather unique place, it had originally been a Georgian ballroom so had the beautiful plastered ceiling typical of the period but with Indian murals painted on the walls. As you can imagine it could seat masses of people but we ate early to avoid the crowds. That was dinner no. 3 out this week so I feel absolutely stuffed! It had been our friend's 80th birthday the day after mine so a double celebration and more to come next week when we go up to theirs. Had a ride home in an ultra quiet hybrid Uber, quite impressive.

The meadow looks good @chicky. There is a concrete roundabout near us planted up on the same lines by a couple from our Gardening Club. It's not been watered as far as we know but is still looking good with dwarf gaura, grasses and orange poppies amongst others.

Your customers certainly look happy @D0rdogne_Damsel but do you ever have time to rest?

Glad your enjoyed the Exhibition @Dovefromabove.

That does sound rather cold @Pat E, Pixel certainly knows how to keep warm. Stay safe.

@D0rdogne_Damsel Is the guy in the black polo one of your staff?
    He's utterly divine.

    Good morning!
Well, no rain @floralies  In fact, the sun came out, the wind whipped up and I had to close the shutters as it became too hot.  Yes, I see on the weather forecast we are up for a 35°C week next week!!

That's a good stack to warm your heart @Busy-Lizzie - How many stares did you order? I usually get 5 stares which lasts nearly two winters as after the boiler comes on late November,  I don't light the fire every day.  We probably get a bit more sun than you do.

Glad your season is doing well @D0rdogne_Damsel  - the theme nights sound fabulous.

Off to walk the dog before it gets too hot.  Enjoy your Saturday everyone.

Off to collect our new car this morning. Gulp.

Looks like a fantastic evening, @D0rdogne_Damsel - well done  :) What did your staff have to eat after you sold their dinner?  :D

    Good morning all … 😊 ☕️ Keep warm @Pat E  ☕️
17C and overcast this morning. We have a 90% likelihood of rain tomorrow … don’t know how much tho …
Glad the Caribbean food was a success @D0rdogne_Damsel 😊 it looks like a lovely evening.
It sounds as if several of us have been gadding out and about over the past few days. 😊
OH is off to work today … but not a long day … then tomorrow we’ll be trying to get the garden ready to leave for a few days while we visit MIL.

    Morning all,

Up and about early as we have cakes to bake.

In answer to your question @Hostafan1, he was the 'roadie' for the singer, and happily married, about to become a grandad, but yes I agree, very dishy. 😅

@raisingirl I fed the poor staff a plate of chips and some cheesy tapas from the freezer, luckily, like me they never say no to customers. 😁

Hope you all enjoy your day.

    Morning all.

That looks a great success @D0rdogne_Damsel, I hope the French evening goes well too.

I ordered 6 steres @tui34 but I'll need more, just for one winter. Hard work, keeping the stove going but it's a lot cheaper than oil, I cook on it and it keeps the place very cosy. This cottage also has electic radiators but I hardly use them, back up for when I'm too old to shift logs!
