Hi folks, Still feeling rubbish with this cold and Bestie still has no real Covid symptoms, although she has lost her sense of taste now. Sorry to hear about the bad back @punkdoc I treated myself to a wheeled garden plant pot trolley from Amazon. Not particularly cheap but better than a bad back. It's cooler here today and much more comfortable but I haven't any energy to get into the garden. I should actually be at the Patchings Art Festival today but had to cry off, gutted as I was really looking forward to it, had paid for the ticket and for a workshop. The picnic sounds like fun @D0rdogne_Damsel If you bake 101 by mistake feel free to chuck the extra one my way.
Afternoon all, I'm home alone at the moment which is rather a treat. Although I love OH dearly, when you're living with someone all time, it's nice to have time to oneself occasionally. I've already watched ETTC (which he can't stand) with a cuppa and don't have to cook tonight - yippee!! Picked up the metal trellis screens from B&Q this morning which I'm very pleased with. A very nice young man put them in the car boot for me which they only just fitted. Stopped for a coffee/sticky on the way home for another treat and a look-see at a GC. I need another Aloe Vera as mine is dying, I find them very good for oven burns, but they only had big ones at over £10 - is that the going price for indoor plants these days? When I got home, I found my DA rose 'Elizabeth' had been delivered in very good condition with lots of buds so thanks, sis! Not sure where to plant it at the moment.
Sorry you're still suffering @Yviestevie, shame about the Art Festival.
A narrow escape @Ergates, kind of thing I do sometimes.
I only started visiting the IOW when I met OH and rattling around in a 70 year old car on very bumpy roads is not really my idea of fun, especially when the car broke down, which it did at regular intervals. I once had to push it off the ferry!
14C blue sky and high white cloud here at the moment … we’re told it’ll go up to 24C later, which is comfortable for me.
OH is at home today … he’s hoping to be in the studio most of the day if it’s not too hot this morning … it’ll be more comfortable later as the sun moves over the house.
I might leave him with some watering to do while I go to the farm shop this morning.
Last evening he took the hedgehog food station apart and gave it all a good scrub with hot water from the kettle as he’d found half a dozen big fat ticks on the floor in there. 😟
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all. Hoping that is it a bit warmer today! Yesterday was sunny here but with a really chilly wind, so much so that we had to resort to wearing fleeces every time we went outside, only to remove them if working in the direct sunlight. Most annoying. Managed to get all the watering done to the back garden - took two hours in all but needed to give everything a good soak to help towards the coming heatwave. Beautiful picture of your grandson @Hostafan1, such a cute handsome little fella, he must take after his grandpa I think. Keep warm @Pat E, I suggest you follow Pixel's example.
Morning, much cooler last night and this morning though the temperature is climbing already. Good day at Capel yesterday I was able to work in the shade most of the time. Went straight from there at 2pm to water the Allotments.
