Oh @D0rdogne_Damsel I have always been full of admiration for the relationship you have with Charlie and the wonderful life you have given him especially over the past few years while you have been so busy setting up the restaurant business. The lessons he has learnt will stay with him always and, as they say, "what goes around comes around". Never fear, he will be back in your life regularly in his future, to a place that he can relax, talk and just be himself. Look forward to good, if different, times and be thankful that you have such a well adjusted and loving son - all credit to you.

Another negative test today so it looks as if I'm ok.  Feel rubbish though.  Bestie still feels fine.

    Morning Forkers.

A few days off here, and after the heat of yesterday it is cooler and cloudier today so perfect for gardening. Just mulched a sorry-looking Viburnum with some home-made compost. A Robin is going mad for the bounty of worms.

Take care all, especially those with lurgies.

Glad you had another negative test today @Yviestevie and hopefully it isn't covid and that you will feel better soon.
All the doors and windows open so not too bad in the house.  Good - because I have paperwork to do.

Ooh, you all say such lovely things about Charlie, you are very kind. He's had a little chat this morning with me to check I am ok, bless him, and he has asked if perhaps I could manage to join him for just a couple of days when he is on holiday next week with his dad. It's not the easiest time for me to be away from work, but I am going to have look at the rota and see if I can swap things around a little bit.

I had some very sad news this morning.  One of the women with whom I have hatched plans, shared gossip, crossed swords and who has generally been part of almost everything I have been involved with in our little town over the past few years died this morning.  She was not yet 50.  She had been in frail health for a while and, I think, in frail mental health too.  Her husband has just rung me - devastated of course - there is to be an inquest as I think booze and the heavy-duty medication she was on may have played a part.  Still in a state of shock; I can't believe she has gone.

Oh @didyw how very sad. My thoughts are with all who loved and cared about her. 😔

@didyw, my sympathies. Sudden unexpected deaths are always harder to process and grief hits you unawares.

It's been overcast and a bit cooler, about 28c when I checked earlier. Drove up to have coffee at my friend's this morning, an enjoyable couple of hours just gossiping and discussing plants. Her garden's smaller than mine, so more manageable with lots of pots looking good all grouped together. I rather liked her solar fountain bird bath. I have a small water feature but it's mains operated and I always worry that I'll either forget to turn it off or it will run dry so it's not often on!

Hope you feel better soon @Yviestevie.

Hi everyone,  early start today as car had to go for service and Mot.  I didn't use my usual garage but one owned & run by 2 of my fellow plotholders.  I  just got them to do an oil change and a basic check over for Mot,  I feel a bit conflicted  only doing that but I have done less than 3K miles a year for that last 3 years, so paying £500 plus for full service was getting a bit expensive.  I'll have a proper one next time.

Sorry to hear your sad news @didyw
