    Morning everyone,
It was a very warm night, but slept most of it. Another warm and sunny morning, will do a few indoor jobs and then relax in the garden in the shade.
@Ladybird4 hope you get the sunshine 🌞 soon. But your garden will love all the rain. I gave our garden a really good soaking last night. The sun was so hot yesterday some plants were looking very sorry for themselves.
Good to see you @Biglad Three weeks will go in no time at all.
@Ante1 hope you can have a relaxing weekend and enjoy catching up with your sister.
@Rubee is thus weather affecting OH. My OH found it a bit too hot yesterday afternoon. Outside in the evening was lovely.

Good Morning LB, Rubee, SGL & Biglad and all to follow,
Sorry to hear the sun hasn’t put in an appearance for you yet LB, hope you find all you need at the SM and get back ready for tennis,
Rubee Those memories good or bad stay with you don’t they, my friend gave up beef after she stabled her pony at a farm that kept cows, when they were all transported away it was heartbreaking,
SGL Sounds like a lovely evening having your dinner in the garden what a nice thing to do, enjoy a relax in the shade this afternoon.
Biglad The end is nearly in sight, hope your garden is flourishing when you get a chance to enjoy it,
Hazel Your poor mum what a horrible realisation that must have been for her, hope all goes well with the painting today,
We are going to a charity event later on today the theme is blues, I have a blue dress to wear OH is going dressed as a Blues Brother should be fun for a good cause.
    Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning @Chivetalking hope you have a lovely day at the charity event. I wonder how many different types of 'blue' people will think of.  I don't like fancy dress parties, but I'd enjoy this theme. 😉 Have fun.
@Songbird-1 hope its not too hot today while you finish the painting.

    Good morning to all.

Sorry to not be here often last few days. I was yesterday at cottage and little bit overdo with work. This season we have problem with deer, and I found that almost 20% of my second early potatoes is destroyed. Everybody who grove have similar problems. Temperature is nice and cozy after rain, and we can enjoy at least few more days. After that again into the oven.

Now is time for tea and book. Wish you all lovely Saturday.

  • Afternoon all.  Only just had breakfast and some tea, sunny out.  Waiting for the ladies tennis final and listening to the pre amble.  Hazel 23 made me smile.  I would have loved to have had rescue chickens.  Top bird would love to go to Cromer, enjoy.  LB Fritz and Norris in ther separate tennis matches played brilliantly quite sad they won’t be in the final.  Ante it will be lovely catching up with sister don’t work too heard.  Wishing Lily and Chive and Busy a relaxing Sunday.  Have a good day.

I'm afraid if people didn't eat lamb and beef and milk and cheese then cows and sheep would become very rare. In order to have milk and cheese cows need to have babies so what would the farmers do with all the male babies? I grew up on a farm. We lived in the farmhouse although my parents weren't farmers. I was one of 6 children and the farmer sold the house so he could build a smaller, more convenient one for him.

I still have a residual cough after Covid, bother it.

I slept very badly last night, think I was too hot. 28° today and yesterday. I wanted to work in the veg garden which had got very weedy while I was in Norfolk. It has also suffered from drought. Red onions are only a third the size they should be and the sweet corn plants are very small. The raspberries were blasted by the hail but are making new shoots.

This morning I nipped down to the small GC, only 5 mins away, and bought sweet red pepper plants, butternut squash plants, leek plants, French bean seeds and carrot seeds. They are all now planted and sown. I planted courgettes and cucumbers the other day. We've been eating the potatoes. I hope it's not all a waste of time as I will be going back to Norfolk late August. Depends if OH has his op when I will be where.

Then this afternoon we watched the ladies tennis final, which we enjoyed, but I would have preferred the other one to win.
