Good morning everyone .TBird ,so pleased you could still enjoy your wonderful holiday.I hope you feel stronger everyday. Those pics are absolutely wonderful. Love raptors ,we have a sanctuary not far way .Rosie I hope you get back to sleep.Debs I hope work is not too hard in this heat .Busy pleased to read that you are getting better .Rest ,plenty of fluids and perhaps a good book .LB enjoy your time with Bestie. It will be good to sit and chat after gardening in this heat.Chive your wet things will dry super quick today . Enjoy your day .
Busy, good to hear that you are feeling a little better but don't forget to take things easy for a while yet. How kind of Annie, your neighbour, to help you out until you are out of isolation.
Chive, we will certainly be drinking lots of tea. As for the chatting - its a no brainer. Sadly the news on the Beeb this morning is predictably grim so I'm sure it will feature in our discussions.
I hope that you all have great days and that T'Bird and Busy shake off their viruses soon.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Thanks for flipping the photos LB. I have no idea why some do it and some don't when taken and posted from the same devices & all roughly the same size. I can sort them out on my desktop 'puter but not with mobile devices.
Listened to a very interesting talk tonight about the goldrush, local tribes and the history of Cordova which we visit tomorrow. It was an excellent presentation by a native Alaskan who grew up in the town.
We are fortunate to be on a very small ship on a one way expedition. It means we've been able to go into lots of small bays and fjords inaccessible to the larger ships. We've had plenty of time to stop and explore using zodiacs, kayaks and other small vessels plus we've been to several very small towns (which the bigger ships never visit) because we don't have to make time for a return journey.
11.15pm now and it's still daylight.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Morning everyone, Couldn't get back on yesterday for some reason and had to sign in......i never sign out. 🤷♀️ Aww @Busy-Lizzie your beautiful garden, I do hope once the leaves have been tidied up that the garden soon revives. Hope you're feeling a bit better today and that OH is well. Take care Busy and rest and get well soon. The leaves etc can wait for another day. @Topbird glad you feel better too, how is OH? Beautiful photos, absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing. @Chivetalking managed to get some lovely cards yesterday and also bought some extra ones for my 'card' box, I always like a selection for occasions. But one was for 1st Poppets birthday next week and didn't have that one 😉😍 Refilled garden bin and the wheelbarrow is full again with tree trimmings. Our Salix flamingo looked like it was dying, so I've given that a good cutting back. @Songbird-1 hope your headache has now gone and you are well. @Ladybird4 have a lovely chat and catch up with your friends.
It's rained overnight and everything is very wet. Typical as I gave the good watering last night. It's sunny at the moment, but rain and storms are now forecast for today instead of the original beautiful sunshine. My minds now gone blank, sorry if I've missed anyone. Have a lovely day everyone.
@Songbird-1 sorry Hazel I meant I bought a card for first Poppet, who will be 7. 2nd Poppet will be 4 this year and youngest Poppet will be 3! 😳 Prices are going up on everything and not just the odd couple of pence. Some things are going up by 30 or 50p. You're right Hazel, probably won't come back down again 🤦♀️
I've just weeded the front border of front garden. There was a horrible purple weed amongst the Hot Lips plant. Don't know where that suddenly appeared from but it had awful roots. But all dug over and looking lovely again. Weather has perked up and it's getting too hot to be gardening. Come in now, had another shower and about to have lunch. See you later 🙋♀️
Afternoon everyone, Rubee Lovely to get the wet things all dried and put away in the same day, hope you’ve enjoyed your day, Topbird This sounds like an excellent cruise you are on, with the means to venture into places inaccessible to the bigger boats, I hope your appetite is better this morning, Hazel This heavy hot weather doesn’t help with headaches, hope you’ve found a cool spot to sit. Your new wool sounds lovely, hope all has gone well with the hedge trimming this afternoon under OHs careful watch, SGL A card box sounds a very good idea, glad you found some nice ones while out to add to the box and a suitable one for eldest poppet. You’ve done well to dig over the border, hope the afternoon has been more leisurely, LB I’m sure you will have covered a great range of topics today, it’s thirsty work ☕️🫖 Have a nice evening everyone.
Good afternoon all. I've had a marvellous day today. Bestie and I went to the retail park near her (this I think will be a regular Thursday for us now) for some retail therapy. Not to buy exciting stuff but food and useful bits and bobs. However, I have to 'fess up that I saw some Meconopsis baileyi outside the big SM there and two just happened to leap into my basket. I am hoping that these will grow well for me as I love the azure blue colour - reminds me a bit of T'Bird's sky this morning. They are only titchy at the moment and I got them for half price so a complete bargain.
Bestie is cat sitting for her son and daughter-in-law. He likes coming to stay with Bestie. Jasper is another cat who has medical problems like Lily and he has to wear a little coat as he is bald in patches. Unfortunately, the only one of his coats that was available this week was his C*******s one! He has to take medication every day and sometimes it makes him upchuck hence this coat!
He is a little sweetie and he loves me and I love him too! Bestie's son calls him the watering can cat because he always carries his tail curled over his back like a handle. He has such long legs compared to Lily but I reckon she'd come out on top in a fight.

Grandchildren grow so fast. I have 14 of them. Oldest grandson is now 16, as tall as his father, smallest is 1. All in France, which is one reason why I'm not moving permanently to Norfolk.
@Songbird-1 I bought clematis from Taylors for the Norfolk cottage. They arrived well packed and in good condition.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good to see you Hazel. I suspected it might have been that severe headache you had that kept you away. It has gone very stormy looking here after a sunny morning but the heat was very oppressive. I am hoping for a big thunderstorm so I can go out and dance in the rain - in my dreams that is! Pleased that the hedge job is over and done with and that you have found a Nelly Moser at Taylors - they are very good sellers.
SGL, I like having lots of birthday and anniversary cards in too and I keep mine in one of the drawers in my desk. If I see any general cards - blank inside - that are a good price then I get some of those too.
Ruby, you snuckered in this morning before I had finished typing my post so please don't think I was ignoring you. Have you had a good gardening day today?
Chive, we had a lovely chat as we ambled around the shops. Though in one of the Bargain SM's it was so hot that we had to give up and leave. I was starting to feel like I couldn't breathe. We did manage to obtain several items there though. Hazel, we both resisted the wool selection in there!
