    Agreed @Ladybird4 :D

Must say I'm in a can't be bothered mood this morning ;) I went on to fettle my sister's garden after finishing with the youngest yesterday. About 12 hours out of the house - curse these long daylight hours :o

Best shape up though - still some of that work stuff to do :(

Hi folks,  Sorry to hear about the Covid cases.  Hope everyone feels better soon.  It seems to be on the increase everywhere.  It's cloudy here today have been out and fed the veg but I'm off on nanna duty soon so haven't been able to get much done.  I'm very disappointed in how much blackspot is around this year, don't normally have a problem with it but it's spoiling many of the roses this year.
    Hope everyone is OK.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

  • LB Jasper is a lovely boy.  Glad you enjoyed time with bestie at the retail park. I’ve vosoyed Rubee and oh, ordered some cat litter and back for the tennis.  Have a lovely day all.

I've been taking it easy but I thought I'd try out the electric radiators this morning to see if they are OK after the electricians work on the new fuse box. NO o no working radiators upstairs or in the sitting room. The dining room one works because it's on a different fuse box. The electrician told me he'd found some ancient 3 phase wiring in the old fuse box which is now not allowed. I wonder if that was the supply to my heating? He's removed it. Also the light over the gas hob, the extractor fan and the kitchen sink light don't work either.

Afternoon everyone, had a nice morning with mum I washed and blow dried her hair for her, followed by a cuppa of course ☺️
Thank you Busy, I hope your body’s temperature soon returns to normal. Oh no! not still issues with the electrics, you don’t need this 😖😫
SGL Hope you had a good shop this morning, did any extras come home with you? 😊
LB Hope you are enjoying the game of Canasta, I wonder if there were any temptations at the market 🪴
Biglad Your daughters front garden looks challenging, but the stepped flower beds are excellent,
Rubee Pleased that you have seen Rosie, how is your OH? I hope his legs are improving with the treatment and surgical stockings,
Yvie Have fun on Nanna duty, sorry to hear about the black spot I have seen it on my rose too,
Rosie Nice to visit your mum & dad, hope you are enjoying watching the tennis,
Hazel Good to hear you have been taking things easy today, I like the sound of your Merry-go-round wool, it will be lovely and colourful,
    Have a nice evening everyone.
  • Chive I’m sure mum enjoyed having her hair washed and styled.  Lily hope the shopping went well.  Hazel it’s good that you’ll be getting a Nelly moser, enjoy your knitting.  I hope those unwell are feeling a little better.

Afties all. Well what can I say? I abandoned going to Canasta today because it was absolutely hissing down as I was about to leave the house for the bus. I was getting suspicious as it just went darker and darker outside so all those plans have been shelved and I resorted to pottering undercover. Not to worry, the garden will be happy.
Hazel, I'm happy to hear you have sent for a Nelly Moser. Did you finish that throw (?) for your OH.
Busy you get the scream of the day!

What an absolute mare you are having! It must be nice having your OH there to give you support at this awful time. I hope that you manage to get an electrician sorted soon. You can't be doing without all those necessary utilities.
Chive, I bet your Mum loved having her hair done by you. Hope there was lots of gossip with the tea!

Good morning /afternoon all. We're now in College Fjord where the waters are full of ice. There are 5 tidal glaciers here all named after Ivy League colleges (universities) - hence the name of the fjord. We'll be going out in the zodiacs later to see them up close.

The weather is fine but chilly (due to all the ice)  and the scenery magnificent.

LB - hope you've enjoyed your day out

Chive - good to hear your mum is doing ok

Biglad - Good work in the gardens. My dad's total commitment to helping in the garden or with DIY when I was first starting out was to stand, hands on hips, point and say "You need to....." Mind you, he knew sod all about gardening beyond how to cut grass - so it was just as well.

@Busy-Lizzie You have had a really bad run these last few months and now this. Is it worth having a long chat with the electricians to try to get to the bottom of the best way to sort out the electrics once and for all even if it means redoing some work?
How's your OH feeling. Mine says he's fine which surprises me as there was no spare bedroom for isolation in the hotel room or ship cabin.

Hello T'Bird. How is the G&T taste? Back yet? I think that the word 'glacier' is very evocative. I always get a little shiver when I read that.  I only know Yale, Princeton and Harvard. I'll have to consult Mr Google for the other two. Hope that last sentence in your post isn't the 'kiss of death' for your OH!
I am signing out now people. Enjoy your evenings. I'm looking forward to Beechgrove and Gardeners World.

A very icy College Fjord this morning.

And Topbirdks tick-list is now complete😎 In the opposite direction to this photo is a small beach where Momma Brown Bear decided to take her two babies for a morning constitutional. She has been lumbering around looking for food and useful stuff, while the cubs are just scampering back and forth across the 'sands' hoping she'll let them go on the bouncy castle. Sadly it's all too far away for a photo with the camera and lenses we have - but we've had a good view through the bins.

Had been hoping to see bears all holiday but it's just been too hot for them to come out and play. If I had a thick fur coat on I guess I'd be hiding in the shade during the day too but the air is distinctly cooler in the fjord.
