  • @Lyn, I've noticed the mushroom/fungi appearing , alas I don't have the knowledge to safely pick . Our blackberry season has finished, just shows how the seasons vary by a few weeks depending on your location. Enjoy your free harvest 😋

    My final harvest from the greenhouse. Much less sun hitting it now & temps down to 10C at night so I've picked everything and shredded it all down. The green toms are Maskotka which I'm hoping will ripen in the house. The red ones are tasteless Piccolo (from a supermarket tomato), hence there were lots left on the plant. The chillies were still coming thick & fast but the freezer is now full enough so those plants sadly went through the shredder too. Been a good season though  :)

    Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border

    I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

    Cucumber and tomatoes picked today:

    Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
    And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

    1st picking of the chillies that are ready so far this year-

    At least if the heating goes off I've got a stand-by :)

    Billericay - Essex

    Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
    Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
  • Picked a few more dwarf French beans. Some of the pods were tough so took the seeds out instead. Found some blue ones and some with red markings. I didn't sow any that were that colour so surprised to find them.
    @Heartinthedirt amazing harvest of chillies.

  • Just harvested some Katya and Worcester Permain apples and Conference pears together with eating grapes to give to a friend tomorrow.

    Tomatoes this season are much smaller than usual; the taste of homegrown stuff makes it worth the while.
