A very good morning to one and all.

Phew, well thats my exercise done.
Glad you got your key covers SGL and the Aquilegia - I love those. 3 for 1 sounds a bargain price as well. I've noticed in the GCs as well that plants are much more expensive this year.
T'Bird, please resist the temptation to buy a bargain wheelbarrow!
Its pouring with rain this morning - which was forecast - so I may be confined to barracks for a while.
p.s. meant to say I was sorry to hear your meal was a bit disappointing Busy.
T'Bird, I do agree with you about water in hospitals. When I was in hospital I couldn't drink their stuff. It had a disgustingly chemical taste to it and as your FIL observed, it was tepid - most unpleasant.

Morning @Ladybird4 and all to follow.
It's sunny at the moment but rain is forecast for this afternoon. Garden does need it, but it would be nice if it rained overnight 😉
I agree about hospital water too 😖  those horrible thick plastic water jugs don't help. Hope Jack is feeling a bit better this morning.
LB,  Some GC  are very expensive. But Ho#€b@$€  seem really expensive... there was some plants, same size that were 2.99 or 3.99 in the GC but £7 or £8 in the DIY shop.
@Topbird you made me smile buying garden tools, like LB said don't be tempted with a wheelbarrow 😉🤣
@Busy-Lizzie sorry you were disappointed with your meal. It was lovely you could catch up with your friends.
Need another cup of tea 🍵

Hello all … just had a quick skim back … hope all with injuries, bumps and bruises are on the mend and that utilities etc are restored PDQ  … shame about the meal @Busy-Lizzie 🙄. I could only pop in and out for short periods yesterday as they’ve been digging up the broadband around here …. not sure if they’ve finished or not … they’ve not filled the holes in the pavements in and I had a rather ambiguous email from them yesterday evening warning of disruption on Tuesday 😵‍💫

  • Morning everyone..  Topbird of course you’ll find room 😁.  LB looks like it could pour it down here.  Lily good you found your key covers.  I was awake early but fell back to sleep thankfully.  A trip to sm this morning to get Bruno some soft food with him being more gums than teeth, bless him.  A cooler day, must wear a cardigan.  Alfie’s lounging on his fleece. Busy a shame the meal was disappointing.

Good morning everyone .When my OH was in hospital he was told to walk up and down the ward several times a day after his op’ .He saw the ward assistant refill the water jugs without washing them then putting them in any order on the bedside tables. He complained to a nurse ,she said her staff don’t do that .OH said watch her see for yourself. He was very concerned because there were people on the ward with different conditions ,very unpleasant. It’s been raining here overnight . I hope the ground is dry enough to work on .LB ,love the pic .I hope that you can go in your garden at some point today . TBird glad you got your garden tools cheaper over yonder .Enjoy the rest of your holiday .Busy you must have been disappointed to get a meal that wasn’t very fresh . Eating out is expensive and you expect your food to be very fresh .Lily enjoy your cuppa . I am parched . Been pottering upstairs .Haven’t been downstairs yet .Enjoy your day folks .

    Morning all.

When I was a nurse, years ago, a cleaner would take a trolley up the ward, put all the water jugs on it, take them to the ward kitchen and wash them. In those days the wards were big with about 15 beds on each side. Each ward had a kitchen at one end next to sister's office. The cleaner would fill the jugs with fresh water and put them back on the bedside lockers. The junior nurses made sure that the patients drank enough.

The weeks fly by so fast. Back to the SM today for the weekly shop.

  • One set of covers has arrived, the other made it through customs.  I’ve stripped the old one, vacuumed, pressed the new one and after a small battle there on, phew.  Time for tea.  Sunny out.   Hazel thank you for the warning, you could have done without that.
