Afternoon folks, It's a beautiful day here.  Went to Ashwoods with Bestie this morning, didn't buy any plants, just needed some compost, but I did have a rather lovely cranberry scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam.  Came home and did some weeding, found a huge clump of buttercup I had been cultivating, and removed quite a bit of bulb foliage that had died off.  Also removed lots of water soldiers from the pond. Neighbour put the last of the new fence panels in this morning and it looks much better.  Later on I sat on a bench and watched a male blackbird have his lunch (tadpoles from the pond) and then have a long bath.

Good afternoon all. Gosh it turned out to be scorchio this afternoon. I am not complaining though Ante! I hope you enjoy the flower show. I have pottered about most of the day in the the garden, Lily joined me and got a thorough scolding from the robins and tree sparrows as she mooched up and down. She didn't stay out for too long with me though as I think even she found it a bit too hot for her. I got all my young plants in the greenhouse watered before finally making my way to the back door.
(Note to self: make sure you are out of the range of the garden sprinkler BEFORE you turn it on!)

I hope you didn't get too wet LB!

I went for a walk with brother, came back through the village. Don't think he saw much of it, too busy talking! It has been a lovely sunny day. We had lunch in the garden. He has gone now.

  • I’ve only just managed to get back on line, gremlins.  It’s been a bright warm sunny day and it was lovely.  I had an early trip to sm and managed to get everything.  Chive wishing your mum well with her scan. Ante I’m glad your having a rest before the potatoes.  LB glad you’ve had such a lovely time.  Busy and Dove good you could meet up and I hope wonky wobbles on the mend.  Lily I hope you’ve enjoyed the weather and also your boys enjoyed their trip.

    Good evening everyone.

LB, a splash of water from sprinkler is most welcome when is hot outside.  😂

I see that most of you had a nice day out in the garden. Here was easy and calm, and I was resteing almost whole day. It will be GW in a few minutes, so I'll watch it.

Summer is almost here, and my friend made a small video. T'bird, if you watch this, there is a perfect spot for your motor home. My house is near 😁.

Sorry, I meant to say Yvie, that you were very disciplined in not being tempted at Ashwood's though it sounds as though the lush scone made up for it.
Busy I didn't get TOO wet and as it was so toasty outside I soon dried off. I hope that you don't have to wait so long until you next see your brother.
RosieBB, hope that the Gremlins are all sorted now. What a pain.
Is anyone watching the Eurovision Song Contest final tonight? I always think of our Kitty and her 'Things' when this comes around. Those girls sure knew how to party.
I am signing out for tonight. Doubt I'll be able to stay awake to see it through to the end but I do think Sam Ryder is in with a chance - at least to avoid nul point! See you all tomorrow people. Enjoy your evenings.

    Evening all,

Managed a few hours hobbling around outside. Pea and sweet corn seedlings have gone in the ground and a good potting on session. I sowed a handful of rudbeckia in a small pot a while back and the 11 successful seedlings, although small, were looking very crowded. I've split them out and given them a pot each but not sure they will have enjoyed being manhandled at such an early stage. We'll see....

Absolutely glorious, hot day. The sprinkler is now on to water the lawn and all is well :)

Sorry not read back, but will in the mornin.
Didn't watch much of Eurovision, just the first few songs. Started to watch a programme I'd recorded, fell asleep and woke to see we were winning for awhile!!  But he should be very proud of himself. I wonder if Kitty,  Thing 1 and Thing 2 were partying like they used to. They will be celebrating I'm sure. 🎉🎉

Night night everyone sleep well and sweet dreams.
  • I fell asleep during Eurovision, thankfully all countries gained points.  Sam Ryder seems to be doing well I like the entry.  I won’t give the results as some may have recorded.  Good to see nations coming together with a message of peace.
