Good morning SGL, Ruby and Busy. I have had to go back to the drawing board as my compost bin will not fit into the space I allowed for it. It is bigger than I thought. I am going to have to do a re-jig.
Poor Busy, wretched cockerel! Doesn't help when you are having a bad night anyway. I LOVED that programme and I'm sure you will enjoy the second half. Little drummer boys is all I'll add - stunning!
Thought you might like to see who visited the field at the end of my garden this morning:
The fawn was skipping about like a little lamb. Joyous to see.

Afternoon everyone, It's been another beautiful sunny day. Thunder storms forecast for tonight 😳 Still lovely and sunny at the moment. @Ladybird4 what a lovely photo, the little fawn is so cute. @Busy-Lizzie sorry you had such an awful nights sleep. Hope you've had a lovely lunch today, bonus no cooking tonight 😁 I've been to a GC today and lots jumped into my basket. I bought a couple of Viola Martin, two Lithodora white star, a Saxifraga Paniculata Ria, a Dianthus Bridal star and a Fushia Delta Sarah. I must stop now I'm running out of room 🤭
Thanks for all your kind comments regarding Secondborn's colleague. It was a real shock as only a week ago she had texted them to say she was feeling great and looking forward to coming back to work. It's only been a couple of weeks since Secondborn had to tell the staff that another member of staff had been diagnosed with advanced cancer and was unlikely to return to work.
All that bad news made me very grateful for what turned out to be an enjoyable day. Joined Slimming World as twinges in my knee have reminded me that I need to lose a few pounds (well more than a few really). Then popped into Besties for a cuppa and a chat followed by a visit to get my nails and toe nails sorted for hols. Followed that with a trip to to Merry Hell for some holiday essentials and treated myself to some new foundation and concealer (it was nice and quiet there) Came home to a lovely meal cooked by Hubby. Must remember to get myself a new pair of gardening gloves to keep nails nice for hols. As you said LB Carpe Diem
Glad to hear that Graham is safe and well @debs64 Someone on our Neighbourhood website found a tortoise at the bottom of her garden and I wondered if he had made a break for freedom
Thanks @Yviestevie not sure how he escaped but so far he hasn’t repeated his adventure. Never had these issues with Trevor but he was a grand old gentleman not a cheeky young whippersnapper!
Glad you had an enjoyable day in spite of everything @Yviestevie.
We had a good lunch which we lingered over.
I did quite a bit of watering, not very arduous as the new sprinkler did most of it. Haven't had decent butt filling rain since before I arrived here 5 weeks ago and it was already a bit dry then. I did the front from the front butt with a watering can. Now seen the local weather forecast, heavy rain and storms from 10pm tonight! OH has gone out to mow the front lawn.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Evening all. Well it has taken me the best part of the day to put my new compost bin together and as per usual it all went fairly well until the last section when I had to wrestle it to get the last two screws to marry up with the holes. I did manage it in the end and did a little happy dance It is quite a bit bigger than my other one.
SGL, you have to win plant buyer of the week - what a lovely haul you have there. Bestie bought some of the blue lithodora last week as she is making up red, white and blue baskets and troughs for the Jubilee.
Busy, glad to hear that after your horrendous night you did have a nice lunch out. Hope your OH gets the grass cut - good move that. It has just started raining here.

I had a bad night, was awake at 3, 4 and 5am. At 5am I was chasing the cockerel in the garden.
OH is taking me to a pub for lunch so I won't have to cook this evening.
Last night we watched half of the Queen's Jubilee show on TV. Will watch the other half tonight.
