Good morning RosieBB, Ruby, SGL and Ante.
Ruby, you are not on your own, I had a shocker of a night too. Feel very tired now which is not a good thing as I have plans for in the garden. Not to worry. Maybe I'll sleep better tonight.

Morning LB Sorry to hear you had a bad nights sleep too. Hope you can get out in the garden, take things easy though.
It's raining here now and it's supposed to be here for the day.
Forecast for the next few days aren't good either.

    Good morning everyone😎

Sorry I've been AWOL for a few days but we got back late Monday and OH has gone away for a few days karting (he left last night) so it's been busy, busy, busy turning round the washing, cleaning the campervan and getting on top of some admin etc before he left.

We had a great holiday and it was lovely to be back in Germany. The weather was very kind (very hot some days) and things seemed to be more or less back to normal. There were a few places where masks are still required (council run museums and public transport mainly) and they are being quite strict insisting on FFP2 masks so had to buy some of those. Blue surgical disposables are not acceptable there.

Came home to what looked like a jungle of a garden although it all looks much better now that the grass is cut and edged and I've hoiked out buckets of forget-me-nots (still more to do there!). We had a tremendous storm the other night with lots of flashes and bangs and a brief but decent spell of rain. So far I've not needed to use the new sprinkler.

Hoping for more rain today so I'm off to town to get some b'day cards, some bits and pieces for our next trip (which is only 3 weeks away) and do a SM run. Friend is coming for tea this afternoon.

LB - I'm so pleased to learn that you seem to have resolved your energy supplier issues. I always thought it would get sorted in the end but it's been a stressful few months for you.
I'm another who is reluctant to rely on a smart meter. I think it would be much more difficult to dispute bills / readings if I get out of the habit of doing readings myself.
MIL has a smart meter but it doesn't always work so she is regularly asked to give readings anyway - which is quite difficult for her to do. I'm not sure how the meter connects to the mother-ship (maybe a mobile signal or uses her wi-fi?) but her connection fails on a regular basis. Mobile signals & internet can be a bit patchy here and I don't need that added hassle thank you.

Ante - hope your back is starting to feel easier. Pilates / yoga type gentle stretching exercises have always helped mine and are identical to those prescribed by the physiotherapists.

Chive - loved that photo of Nell. Reminds me of one of my late cats who liked to supervise me gardening. Had to have 2 kneeler cushions - one for him and one for me. As I got up from one he'd move onto the warmed spot so I'd move the one he'd just vacated. Alternated our way right round the garden. Lovely memory - I do miss my old cats... Hope all goes well for mum today.

Right - must get on with the day. Have a good one!

Good morning all. Lovely sunny day in the garden yesterday so nice to have an extra day off in the week.
Sorry to hear your OH is in so much pain @Rubee hope the new antibiotics help.
Shocking news from a dear friend her daughter was marrying her boyfriend of over 12 years on the jubilee weekend all plans made then yesterday he just left. Won’t see her or speak and says relationship is definitely over. Daughter lives in London my friend has travelled up to be with her but it’s such an unhappy situation everyone is devastated.
Off to work in a bit but it’s raining so I don’t mind.
Hope those of you who had a bad night can take it easy today

Morning all,  You had a bit of luck having yesterday off @deb64 we had lovely weather. Sorry to hear about your friends troubles. Not so good today it's a bit grey with the threat of rain all day.  Managed to get out into the garden early and dig out a big clump of buttercups that I had been cultivating.  Now they have started to flower I can see my mistake.
Loads to do out there.  Have a good day

    Morning all.

I'm sorry your OH is in so much pain @Rubee, I hope the new antibiotics work for him.

I need to pull up the forget-me-nots but we've just had a shower. It's colder today.
