    Cheers folks  :)

Yes, MIL seems to have recovered well thanks ... she's just trying to remember not to overdo things ... she's always had so much energy but is alert to the dangers of Long Covid so is being careful, not being a spring chicken any more.

We went to Southwold @Topbird ... fish and chips on the pier, an ice cream for dessert at the mouth of the harbour just as the tide turned, then down to the other end of the harbour to buy fish from the Samantha K's hut ... there was a bit of drizzle but not enough to spoil the day, and the drive home, including going past the rhodos at Henham which were looking especially good this year, was all the better for the countryside looking a bit 'refreshed'.  When we got home OH scraped and cooked new potatoes with butter and chives, made a green salad and  warmed up the quiche I'd made ... a bottle of something cool and white was opened and we rounded off a lovely day absolutely perfectly.  :)

Gotta love chish and fips at Southwold @Dovefromabove 😎. Preferably with a half of Adnams as either a starter or a dessert😁

Sounds as though @Dovefromabove had a lovely day out.

OH sang in Ely cathedral for a concert a few years ago. He used to sing in a choir in France and someone posted their concert on YouTube. A well known conductor in the USA saw it and invited the choir to New York to sing in Carnegie Hall with some other choirs. Wives and partners were invited so I went too. It was wonderful. OH's SIL had a flat near Columbia University so we stayed there for a week. Then the choir were invited to sing in Ely but only three did, OH and 2 friends. As OH's cottage is in South Norfolk we stayed there with the 2 friends and drove to the rehearsals.

@Topbird, think you asked, our village is having a BBQ and music 5pm - 10pm in the village hall and the village we used to be in, where our friends are, is having a tea. Not sure what we'll go to.

    Evening everyone,
What a beautiful sunny day. Apart from the wet cloth things that dried very quickly, we've had a relaxing family day. All poppets and their Mummys and Daddys came round this afternoon and played in the garden.  Lovely catch up and they've all just gone home for bath and bed. School day tomorrow. I think all little ones will sleep well tonight 😉
It's still lovely and sunny, so might sit outside with a drink. 🤫
Hope you've all had a lovely Sunday too.

So sorry @Busy-Lizzie missed your last post. What wonderful memories for you and OH. That's a truly wonderful experience.
Thank you @Ladybird4 it was a lovely day.  Hope you get some sunshine soon. We have rain forecast for the next few days. We were very lucky today and much warmer than forecast.

That sounds a lovely day @star gaze lily

We've been gardening in the sunshine then we went to the village pub for a beer. Having slow roast lamb shoulder with new potatoes and mange tout peas for dinner.
