Very sad news this morning. All those families left devastated by the deaths of those young children. I cannot find words.

Morning  Rosie, LB and all to follow.
It must have rained during the night, everything is soaked outside. A bit cloudy this morning, with the sun trying to peek through. This afternoon is supposed to be heavy rain again.
I had a good nights sleep thank you Rosie. Hope you slept better too.
Have a lovely day with friends LB hope the weather improves for you.
Will make tea and toast and watch the news.

Ante, doing all the work you do at the cottage must be made twice as difficult when the temperatures are so intense. I hope you have a rest at the hottest part of the day.
Chive, I was just thinking similar thoughts about the hailstones on Hazel's garden. I hope your plants are OK Hazel.
T'Bird, Jack is fine - just still a bit bruised and tired but is very pleased with his tomato plants which seem to be better than last year so far. He is looking forward to watching the Jubilee parade from his front window a week on Friday.
Hazel and T'Bird, my blood tests are routine and every two years. I cannot be bothered to look my records/results up online. The surgery will get in touch if they need further tests done so no news will be good news. Tell you what though, I have never had such a ginormous bruise left in my elbow than this time. It looks very impressive but doesn't hurt at all.
Biglad, falling asleep on the floor might frighten the life out of someone coming across you in your prone position!
SGL, good morning to you, you snuckered in whilst I was typing this post.

    Morning all.

I slept very well. I hope you all did too.

I haven't read the English papers yet, LB. Deaths of young children weren't mentioned in my French online paper, only that desperate families in Afganistan were having to sell children to buy food. So horribly sad.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Good morning all. Busy day in garden yesterday and a lovely meal. Friend’s daughter is feeling more positive and looking forward to the future however uncertain. The resilience of youth!
Hope you all have a wonderful day

Good  morning everyone .I hope everyone is well .OH sent to hospital yesterday .The doctors were concerned that after three lots of antibiotics the cellulitis was still the same.Anyway to cut a very long story short :after seeing the doc blood tests were taken and OH had two cannulas put in his arm ready for antibiotic drip .When the test returned they were completely clear ,no infection ( I must say I did wonder because he hasn’t had a high temperature ) .The dock said that the very red and very sore swollen areas of his legs were due to the Lymphoedema.OH came home last night .Pleased that there wasn’t any infection but still in a lot of pain and the swelling is quite disabling.
Oops I said to cut a long story short . Sorry about going on a bit .He is now waiting for special stockings made to his leg measurements and a device to put them on and take them off .His legs are far too swollen to pull them on himself. Oh tries to remain cheerful but the hospital visit has done nothing for the pain .

@Rubee sorry to hear your OH is suffering and a trip to the hospital is nobody’s idea of fun but at least he now has a clearer idea of what’s wrong and maybe is on the way to sorting it out? Maybe he could get some better pain medication sorted out there are so many options.
    Take care

    Morning all.

It must be a relief to know your OH doesn't have an infection Rubee but you must both be exhausted and worried that the doctors don't seem to have any answers for his condition. It sounds very painful and disabling. A friend had to wear the special compression stockings after she had cellulitis and a very swollen leg. It did help her so fingers crossed for you.

LB - the news from America is shocking and very distressing. Apparently there have been 27 school shootings in the US so far this year and, since 2020, more children die in gun related incidents than are killed in car accidents. What sort of statistics are those for God's sake?
The pro-gun and right to bear arms groups are so strong in America and there are so many weapons in private hands, that I think it would be nigh on impossible to reverse the situation even with immediate legislation - which isn't going to happen. Very depressing and incredibly sad.

    Morning all,

Haven't seen the news but I'm putting 2 and 2 together from your snippets. It's devastatingly sad whenever a mass shooting happens. Unfortunately, the bigger picture is that Americans are content to continue allowing them to happen in the name of freedom :o

Fortunately, I think the rest of the household are well used to my strange sleeping antics @Ladybird4 :D

@Biglad - 19 children aged 7 to 10 plus 2 adults plus injuries - some life threatening. Dreadful.
