Canasta sounds a lot of fun LB. So many little groups like yours seem to have failed to restart around here. My friend's husband is much in demand because he really wants to get out to play bowls and many local teams are very short of players. A lot of people have got used to not being able to go out over the last 2 years - and they now seem quite content to stay at home even though restrictions have been lifted. I know so many people who say that...

If the pharmacy thing is a local issue I may have to investigate an alternative method of ordering.

A neighbour from the village was behind me in the queue and she did 'our' trip to Canada / Alaska a few years ago. She loved it😎

Busy you have mentioned 2 jobs on my 'to do' list - choisya and geranium phaeum.
Chive, Hazel's post reminded me that I had forgotten to say how pleased I was to hear about your Mum's date for her consultation. That date will stick in my mind as its handy brother's birthday and my next stint at the food bank.
T'Bird, how nice it must have been to hear that person in the queue singing the praises of your trip. I have to say that I hope we'll be able to read T'Bird's Travelogue about the things you see.

@Biglad re Orchid   all of what LB said and try not to get water in the centre of the leaves. And  occasionally wipe the leaves with a clean damp cloth, to wipe the dust off.
@Chivetalking glad to hear you have a date for your mum.

Evening all,  What a day, had a cuppa with Bestie this morning in the garden and went over to Secondborn's in the afternoon.  Picked up the boys from nursery and school and took them both to have their hair cut.  Went back to Firstborn's and got them both changed and picked up a pressie as they were going to a birthday party.  Then I realised that Secondborn hadn't told me where the party was.  I called her and left messages numerous times but she was interviewing at school and I couldn't get her.  Boys weren't best pleased as you can imagine.  All dressed up and nowhere to go.  Finally she got back to me and we set off.  I'm sure the boys loved the party but the 'entertainer' loved the sound of his own voice and had his mic set to maximum, that coupled with the loud music almost pushed me over the edge.  Drove back to Secondborn's for a well earned cuppa.  Drove home and stopped off at a pub that I had liked the look of for ages.  We ordered and waited over an hour before our food came.  The meal was awful.  I couldn't cut my steak even with a steak knife and Hubby's chicken was dry.  Sent the food back and the second steak they bought wasn't much better.  Left them with a tip, change the chef or the butcher, and drove home.
Not the relaxing birthday I would have wanted but hey.  I'm hoping next week will be less stressful.

Oops sorry phone rang, but it was a wrong number.
@Ladybird4 glad you had a lovely time at Canasta.  Yes I was pleased with my purchases today 😁
Thank you, Poppet did look cute 😍
@Songbird-1 bet the charity shop were very grateful for all your lovely blankets.
@Chivetalking I can't believe 2nd Poppet will be going to school either. Mind you 3rd Poppet will be 3 this year, so he will be going to school in a years time too! 😥 Great photo of Mr Bee 🐝
@Topbird OH gets all his medication delivered too, our pharmacy is really helpful with sorting medication out. Do hope you get everything soon.

Oops sorry @Yviestevie you weren't there earlier.
You've had a busy day. Glad you got the boys to the party in time. Sorry your meal was so awful.

Will say goodnight to you all. Sleep well and sweet dreams everyone.

Thanks @Ladybird4 @star gaze lily Here's the unfortunate specimen that has had the misfortune to end up in the houseplant graveyard :o

I did wonder about the clear plastic pot being inside the white one. It was sitting about 1cm below the rim so I've brought it up by putting a layer of gravel in, but I guess it needs a different outer pot anyway.

    Hello one and all.
Good grief Yvie. What a crazy day you had yesterday and I'm sorry that your meal was inedible - after waiting an hour as well! Maybe you can have a re-run and go somewhere you know where the food is good and celebrate again.
Biglad, that is a Phalaenopsis - virtually bomb proof. It doesn't need a pot cover at all for the reasons I mentioned in my last post regarding care. All it needs is a saucer under the plastic pot. I may be wrong but is that an elastic band around the flower spikes? If it is, it needs to be cut off. Its OK to leave the little black clips in place. Once the flowers have gone over you can cut the spike back to a fresh green 'bud' and the orchid may throw out new side spikes that will flower again. I have orchids in my bathroom that haven't stopped flowering for years now. The bathroom is on the north side of the house and the window faces east but gets little sunlight as my neighbours have a ruddy great Leylandii in their front garden between our two houses which casts a lot of shade.

    Morning everyone,
We have sunshine at the moment, hope it stays. Forecast was for a chilly day.
@Biglad it is a beautiful orchid, lots of flowers 😍
Having a cup of tea and toast.  Hoping to play in the garden today.  Have been meaning to ask......how are your sweet peas.......mine look very healthy, but are growing so slowly. Last year they were romping away 🤷‍♀️
