    Good Morning SGL & Rubee,
@star gaze lily Hope you get your cards posted before any more showers. No news as yet but mum is bearing up thank you 😊
Rubee So sorry to hear OH has had another bad night, I hope the telephone consultation goes well and the doctor can help, best wishes to you both,
The sun has put in a brief appearance, but the forecast is damp indoor pursuits calling.

Back from the village. I enjoyed the walk despite the fact there were a few spits and spots of rain. Once I got to the surgery and picked up my form from reception I was directed to the upstairs surgery. I sat in the waiting room and a young chap arrived, said he had come for a blood test and they ushered him through. Cheeky queue jumper I thought to myself. I went out to investigate and was spotted by one of the nurses who told me to go in after he came out. 10 seconds later he came out all embarrassed. His appointment was for NEXT week. Whilst on the one hand I thought 'twonk' on the other hand I thought 'why could they not have just done it' for him there and then. Hey ho! I noticed the road closure signs for the Jubilee parade. Its June 2nd from 12:00 - 14:00.
I will get an excellent view of all the proceedings.
Debs, I do hope that you and your friend will be able to comfort the lady whose daughter has been so devastated.
Chive, I cannot believe where this year is going - its flying past. I walked by all the youngsters heading for school, having a secret laugh up my sleeve as they all had their heads buried in their mobiles and were in serious danger of walking off the kerbs and into lamp posts.
Oh Ruby, I am so sorry your OH has had another uncomfortable night and I do hope that he gets some useful assistance today.

    Good morning all.

My Laptop is fine this morning but I had to sign in again to get here.

@Topbird there is at least one other mole in the lawn, evidence this morning.

It rained quite hard last night, butts are much fuller.

I hope the doctor can do something to relieve your OH, @Rubee.

I'm taking OH out for lunch in a pretty pub today, thought it was time I invited him for a change.

    Afternoon all,

    I think I missed a day :o Had a quick skim.

Unless the neighbour was about to leave on a long holiday, that is a bit anti-social @Topbird (and even if he was, should've done it the day before).

Thanks @Ladybird4 - my grip on sanity is tenuous at the best of times ;) This week and next will continue to be bonkers (workload-wise) but it will improve quickly after that. I might be staying on for a good few weeks part-time so a 13-week contract will end up being about 20 weeks of work :( Still - it's paid for a new lawn :D

Dad must have had a very interesting work life. I wished I'd asked him about it more when I had the chance.

    Afternoon All,
Busy Glad your laptop is working today, have a lovely lunch out with OH,
LB Glad your blood test went ok this morning, poor chap getting his appointment muddled it is a shame they couldn’t do it for him anyway. Sounds like you’ll have a grandstand view on Friday and good news it doesn’t affect your visit to bestie,
@bluebellsintherain I hope your dad is helped at the hospital it’s good that they are taking immediate action, I’ll keep my fingers crossed 🤞
Biglad Hope you’ll get a chance to get into your garden in between the busy work schedule,
Time to do a few bits indoors, have a nice afternoon everyone.

Hi folks,  We've had quite a few heavy showers today but no thunder/lightening.  I had to laugh at the predictive text 'mummy's chips.  Jonah calls McDonalds the mummy shop because of the big yellow M.  He never wants to go in though as he doesn't like their chips.
Art class this morning and then a trip to the Eye hospital with Hubby.  He has glaucoma in one eye apparently, but it's only mild and the other one is OK.  They have given him some drops to use.
Had some new Pandora earrings and a necklace arrive today for my birthday.  Really like them, they will look lovely on hols next week if I can get a bit of a tan in 6 days.
    Hope everyone is OK.

Lovely beamy old pub served typical pub food, huge helpings. We didn't finish it and didn't have dessert.

OH has been asleep for a lot of the afternoon. I watched "Escape to the Country" and the Chelsea Flower Show and chatted to daughter on the phone.
