Thank you ladies for kind and nice words. It's a hard work but when you enjoy in it it's a bit easier.

Hazel, enjoy and have relaxing day. It's Sunday, you don't need to dress.

    Thank you @Chivetalking ... I'm glad you understand :)

I knew this thread was busy but I started looking in because @Topbird is a sort of neighbour and we meet up occasionally, and I was keeping up with her travels via this thread ... and it seemed so rude to read and not say hello to you all ... (almost like stalking) but much as I would like to I don't really have the time to keep track of you all ... I thought it was only polite to explain.  :)

@Songbird-1 yes I slept well too Hazel, so I'll be 4th in  your group of well slept peeps. 😉
Your time in the choir sounds wonderful. You'd have kicked me out 🤣🤣 not a good singer 🤭  And to be able to sing in the Cathedral must have a very memorable experience. Enjoy your leisurely morning reading the papers, hopefully with lots of cups of tea 🍵  🍵

@Dovefromabove no need to apologise, we all understand. Hope your MIL is fully recovered now.

Getting quite warm already, think I'll put the wet cloth things out and enjoy a cup of tea in the garden.
    Have a lovely day everyone.
*sorry meant to say @Rubee sorry you and OH had a bad night's sleep, have a restful day.

Sorry SGL missed you there, glad you’ve slept well too. It sounds like we’ve got the same idea it’s a good day for wet things 😊

Morning all😎 No worries about irregular postings @Dovefromabove - it's just nice to see you when you have time to post. Did you go anywhere nice with your friend last week?

Glad you enjoyed your evening @Busy-Lizzie. You have a very busy social life when you're here in Norfolk - always seems to be lots going on. Has your village got anything planned for the Jubilee weekend? We have a village picnic with entertainment laid on but I'm not sure I'll be able to persuade OH to go. He doesn't 'do' village stuff.

My turn for a bad night last night - was still awake when the racket 😉 of the dawn chorus started up. Couldn't get my feet warm and about 2am I got up to put some socks on. Thought I could hear something and went to look out front. It was music from a wedding in the next street. We'd been warned about it and it wasn't disturbing me but then I noticed a couple of torch lights bobbing in our unlit dead-end lane just outside my garden. Hardly anybody walks down this lane after dark and it slightly unsettled me.

I kept getting up every half hour or so to check everything was ok before I decided it was probably neighbours walking back from either the wedding or another night out. Very, very unusual for anybody to be out doing anything that late round here. With more than a few farms around it was nearly time for some people to getting up! It doesn't normally worry me to be in the house on my own for a few days but I did go round and double check I'd locked all the doors....

Might try to sit quietly with a book this afternoon when I've done some chores.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Well I popped in for elevenses and you lot have been a happy, chatty lot.
Ante I have been and looked at this month's pictures and, as ever, stunning! Your soil looks particularly good as well.
Ruby, sorry that you didn't have such a good night as some of us. Just take things gently today.
Dove, no need to apologise at all. Drop in as and when. All welcome.
Hazel, wow, singing in Exeter Cathedral. That is brilliant.
Chive, don't be going mad with the unmentionables. Col.TT is polishing the tank!
T'Bird. sorry to hear that you had an unsettled night last night. I would have found flickering torches at 02:00 disconcerting. Good job you knew about the wedding and could put the torches down to 'lost' guests.
It is disappointingly overcast here but not too bad for gardening.
I can see, true to form, that my elevenses has stretched to twelveses almost but I blame my phone for that!

Hi folks,  @Dovefromabove I often pop on and don't comment on what everyone has done.  In my case it's a bad memory.  Certain things seem to stick and other things don't.  I just hope nobody gets offended if I miss them out.  I'm a bit like that on Forkers too.
I know what you mean about sometimes feeling unsettled when you are in the house on your own @Topbird  Most of the time I'm fine but if something unusual happens it tends to play on my mind.  Mind you now that Hubby has given up teaching it's unlikley I'll be on my own in this house. He used to stay over at Firstborn's on Sunday nights to get an early start on Monday.
I'm off to Firstborn's for lunch today, Secondborn and the boys will be there too so it's going to be very hectic, but I'll love it.
Have a lovely day folks whatever you are up to.
Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • I’ve been to visit Mum and dad both having a late breakfast and then back to watch the race in Manchester with a cup of tea.  Top bird sorry to hear you were unsettled, glad all okay.  Hazel how lovely to sing in the cathedral.
