  • LB I hope Jack won’t have to wait too long in A&E, always a shock having a fall, wishing him a good recovery.  Lilys tv today.  Lily and LB and Hazel have a restful day.  Debs I like your greenhouse.  Visited mum and dad and I must remember to pick up some soft food for Bruno tomorrow.  Ante that’s great news.  You have done so well and worked so very hard.  Congratulations.

Afternoon all. I haven't had any news from Jack's daughter yet. I've tried ringing on both her landline and mobile but got no reply. I will try again later.
The sun has been shining here all day - lovely to see. I've done some weeding and the soil is still nicely moist from the rain the other day so that made weeding all the easier. Done lots of watering in the greenhouse and I will have to arrange a time to deliver some of the plants to handy brother for his garden.

    Hi everyone.
@Ladybird4 hope Jack is OK, a fall at his age can cause so many problems.
@Ante1 Congratulations on your new business.
They came to take Hubby's car this morning so we are now a one car household.  Think he's feeling a bit strange as he's had his own car since he was 17.
Had art class this morning and then went to Merry Hill to sort out euros for holiday later this month and to take some clothing back to Next and M&S.  It was good to give gardening a rest today as I was aching from yesterday's endeavours.
    Hope everyone is OK.

Hello all. I've had a call from Jack's daughter. She was allowed to go in and spend some time with him. He's had a battery of tests. Nothing broken. He is very weak and a bit bruised and battered but was able to chat with his daughter. He said he had had the best of treatment from the paramedics who took him to hospital and all the staff there who looked after him. He had had something to eat and drink though the Doctor told his daughter that he wasn't drinking enough water. They are keeping him in overnight and possibly tomorrow night too but that is quite positive news.
Yvie, it must feel a little strange for your OH saying goodbye to his car but on the other hand think how much money will be saved. I do hope your aches wear off soon.
Hazel, it has been very windy here the last two days - some of my plants in the ground have been flattened. Night night to you.
    Hello and goodnight Ante
I am signing out for tonight as well so I'll say good night to all and gute nacht to T'Bird.

    Evening 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️
It was very overcast and chilly most of the day. Brightened up around 3 but was a bit breezy.
I managed to get some key covers for the spare keys this morning  and while out I popped into H*#€b@$e for a mooch. Their plants are expensive this year....dearer than the GC but did buy a reduce Aquilegia spring magic white.  Quite a big plant and half price. I was able to split it into 3 plants, so very pleased with 😉
@Ladybird4 pleased to hear Jack didn't break anything and apart from bruises and a bit shaken up he's doing ok. Sounds like he's dehydrated. Hope he feels better soon.
@Ante1 congratulations on your new  business.🎉🎉 sorry you feel so tired today, hope you have a relaxing evening and sleep well tonight.
@Yviestevie Can understand how your OH feels, but as LB said the amount you will save on tax, insurance and petrol etc  is amazing.
@Songbird-1 glad all went OK at the dentist.
Time for a cup of tea ☕
  • LB glad to hear jack hasn’t broken anything, still could be sore from bruising.  Hope he has a good nights rest and his daughter too and you.  Yvie you’ll be looking forward to holiday plans.  Lily you had a lucky find and being able to split into three.  Hazel hope the windy weather settles for tomorrow.  Goodnight everyone, sleep well.

    Evening everyone.
Popped in to say congratulations to Ante on his new official status. May all your cauliflowers be big ones🙂
Hope Big Lad's knee gets the rest it needs
    Hazel - enjoy visiting mum
LB - best wishes to Jack. When FIL was in hospital the nurses were complaining he wasn't drinking enough water. I tried the supplied jug of water and it was foul. Tasted stale and was decidedly tepid. Plus he was unable to pour it himself but nobody thought to do it for him🙄. I took him flasks of iced water so he could have a cold drink for at least some of the day. Hope Jack gets home soon.

We had 4 very pleasant nights at our last campsite by the Weser. Did a lot of cycling up and down the river. Today we've moved 2hrs further east to Gottingen. It's an old university town so we're expecting it to be a bit hustley-bustley likeCambridge. Spent the afternoon in the large sauna / swimming complex - very relaxing.

Also stopped at a large B&Q type store on the way down. I was looking for a particular Gardena (German brand) sprinkler which retails in the UK for anything between £50 and £70 (plus p&p). Found the right one for 45euros so that's about £38. Would have been rude not to... Also bought a replacement Wolff Garten push-pull hoe attachment. Mine is used all the time but is badly corroded after accidental prolonged contact with plant feed or fertilizer. Again much cheaper than in the UK.

OH was rather unimpressed that I'd bought 2 fairly large items which we now have to find a home for in the tiny van but, elephants into matchboxes will go - even if a bit of the trunk is left sticking out....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Good that Jack didn't break anything. Hope he recovers soon.

We had a good lunch, well I really enjoyed the chat with our friends but the meal was a bit below what I expected. I'm sure the sea bass, scallops and prawns were all frozen and a bit tired. It spoilt the risotto which was probably flavoured with the juice from them. OH thought it was OK, perhaps I'm fussy.
