Morning , evening @Pat E we were supposed to get overnight rain, well it hadn't at 6am, now it's damp we have had a bit of drizzle again,  very cloudy and overcast don't know if we'll get more. Supposed to be going to older SD to help her plant, a load of things she went away with from here the other evening .

Morning all, a hot humid day with local thunderstorms later, maybe with hailstones, do I hold back on planting out my tomatoes?.....decisions, decisions. Can't wait to have my allergy testing on tuesday then I can resume taking anti histamines.
Hope you all have a good day  B)

    Morning all.
A bit of patchy rain overnight given the varying dampness on the road surfaces between here and The Home.
    Pretty bright now witha  breeze.
I'm wondering if it might be warm enough to sit outside

    Devon.

Lots of rain overnight, filled the butts,  I was up about 1.30am removing mains lead from router, aerial from Tv and phone because of lightening,  loud thunder crashes.
but dull this morning but the usual gardening must be done. I’m sure everything’s grown 2” overnight.

    Hi all

Damp and very humid here, a soupcon of rain overnight, not nearly enough though. Think we might get thunder soon.
Some of the larger cannas are going outside today. Once out they stay out, too much work to bring them in and out.

Sounds like our mums in the old days,  ‘stop coming in and out,  next time you come in, you’re staying in’

Morning everybody, plans for today have just been disrupted - it's raining! It was also raining when I went to bed last night but I'm not sure how much. Forecast was for rain from 10pm through to 6 am. Sounds like many of us have also had rain. I see South Wales is forecast heavy/thunder. Do hope @didyw's plant fair stays dry for her.

I had thought to sow carrot, runner beans and peas - I know, I'm late but it doesn't really matter. My tomatoes are also only about 2" high. I need to do some weeding on the purple slate path as well, they are growing through the bench slats.

Just tried on my outfit for next week's 'wake' to make sure it looks ok together. Navy blue trousers, navy Chanel type jacket with the new top I bought Friday, chiffony material with tiny floral pattern on navy background. The top has one of the fashionable peplums which hide a multitude of sins around the waistline!

We've been out in the garden since early on ... the asparagus and runner beans have been planted, several rows of lettuce and Swiss chard have been hoed, fed and watered, more perennials planted and watered in, the huge shrubby salvias in the front have been cut back by half (they've filled the brown bin all on their own) ... I was going to cut the Clematis Freckles back 'cos it's beginning to get entangled with the other shrubs, but I discovered a family of fledgling dunnocks and an anxious parent hopping about in there ... think there's a nest in there ... so I've left them to carry on fledging.

The weather app keeps telling me it's raining, or it's going to stop raining in five minutes etc ... but it hasn't rained yet, and I've got a load of towels on the line ... OH has been deputed to keep an eye on the weather out of the studio window now he's in there.

I've boiled some eggs so now to go out and cut some chives for egg mayo sandwiches for lunch (OH's request) ... then out I'll go again to wage war on an invasion of Geum urbanum on the Shady Bank ... I can't see us getting to @didyw 's plant fair, but fingers very crossed that the rain is holding off for her as it is for us.  Hope @Busy Lizzie has a good time there ...

Night all. We’re having an early night.  I’ve had enough tv after watching recordings of the Eurovision finish  and another round of the Giro (this time at Naples),  it was good though. Interesting that Ukraine won the singing. People are kind and trying to support them I suppose, although I would have favoured the singer from Poland.  Can’t help wondering how they would hold next year’s Eurovision in Ukraine.   đŸ€”

Rained overnight here. I had to do my slug watch on the Hostas wearing a plastic shower cap!
More rain from mid morning, after a temptingly sunny start. Still clearing up after the newly plastered ceiling, and the four coats of paint needed. Now we are able to start moving the furniture back in. It’s been a slow job, but we have been sneaking out for walks and to spend time in the garden, so mustn’t complain.
Heard a bang on the window and just managed to rescue a fallen goldcrest from an approaching squirrel. Such a tiny little thing. Popped it in a partially open cardboard box to recover. After resting with its eyes closed for a while, it started hopping around. I opened the lid properly and it flew off. Good result.
