Afternoon all,  The carpenter has returned to do another little job for me.  Have to say the door between the kitchen and conservatory has made a massive difference to how warm the kitchen is.
Cold is still lingering sore throat, swollen glands and ear ache plus a lousy cough.  Hope it clears up soon.  Hubby is having problems with his back.  Couldn't walk for half an hour this morning.  I've called the doctor and they have fitted him in with an appointment with the practice physio this afternoon.  Just have to get him there now.
Free from Nanna duty for a while as the boys are going to their other grandparents in the lakes and the girls are off to Cornwall.  Hoping we will get a few decent days to get more gardening done.  We had a lot of rain this morning but it has been brighter this afternoon.  Mind you it's still too cold to be out in the garden.
    Hope everyone is OK.

I went for a lovely walk with my neighbour, nearly 2 hours. She's French and a chatterer so it's good for my French. My back isn't aching now.

We keep having mini power cuts.

We had it too @Dovefromabove I was in the greenhouse and the biggest rumble of thunder then a down pour!! Courgettes,  French beans,  runner beans and psb all sown, 2nd lot of tomatoes pricked out and Dahlia seedlings potted on.
Glad your new door has helped keep the heat in @yviestevie,  makes all the difference!!!
Hope everyone has a good evening

Hi all, Been a mixture of showers and sunshine today with a stiff breeze. Managed to weed one path on my hands and knees, trying to tidy up before our visitors arrive.
@Yviestevie, are you're sure that's not covid again? Sounds just the same symptoms as we've had and my sister's the same.

Had to endure half an hour on the phone to my credit card company to sort out a fraudulent transaction, do wish they'd employ English people, I could hardly understand a word the Chinese woman was saying.

OH is highly mystified because I gave him a surprise presie which arrived lunchtime. A pack of seven pairs of posh 'rainbow' socks. Thought it would brighten up his day. He's dutifully trying out the pink pair, not sure about the bright orange ones yet!

Have to say bats freak me out @Pat E, so good job yours are thousands of miles away.
We do get them here, swooping over the front lawn when I'm safely indoors.

Don't like thunder/lightening storms either Dove, please keep yours in Norfolk.

Think it’s somewhere over The Wash or the North Sea now @Lizzie27 😊

Loved the bat pictures @PatE , hope your daughter can make you a few more boxes to dot around, I'm sure the little creatures would appreciate it. By the way, you said that they flew off when daylight came, but I thought bats were only around over night? Here ours appear at sunset and are safely home again by first light.
Sorry to hear that so many of you seem to be suffering from colds/covid like symptoms, lets hope that Spring arrives soon to rid us of these annoying winter lurgies.
