LB yes those are ranunculus. I am very pleased with them .This week I have planted several more corms .It’s been a gorgeous day .Transplanted several more grannies bonnets and had to water all my pots .Enjoying a cuppa now .
  • LB and Rubee I’m glad you’ve had a good day gardening.  It didn’t seem to reach the forecasted temperature but there was warmth from the sun whilst shining.  It’s forecast more good weather tomorrow.  Lily you’ll be looking forward to seeing poppets. Chive I’m glad you could spend time with mum.  Hazel are you soon to see your mum?  Big lad a good day for gardening and yes there have been some lovely photos today.  Everyone remember to stretch out your muscles before sitting down and unwinding for the evening ahead.

I was going to say Lithodora for Topbird's blue flower but LB has beaten me to it!

I've been gardening today. Done the end bed and planted my new plants and moved some others. Soil is a bit dry for April. My catmint looks really sad, hasn't grown much. Last year it was almost too big. While I was weeding, next door's cat came and starting licking it then rolled in it.

Oooh - thanks for ID'ing my plant LB and BL - I'll write out a black label for them tomorrow. The blackbirds and squirrels go to town redistributing white plant labels around the border but for some reason they ignore the black ones. Started using black labels with white paint marker about 3 years ago and those labels are still clear and unfaded and still next to the plants where I put them. Result!

Rubee - your trough is very pretty - some rich colours there.

BL - you're right about the soil. We've had so little rain. A bit worrying this early in the year. I gave one of the borders a thorough watering yesterday and today its had a 4" mulch of homemade compost. Hard work in this heat but worth it. Also cut the grass so I'm pooped too. Just climbed out of the shower and now it's time for a ..... - no not a G&T - it's so warm I'm going to have a beer. A pint of Wherry from a Norfolk brewery - my favourite beer.😎
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Afternoon all.

I was resting almost whole day. It was sunny and warm, but windy, not for work outside. I'll make tiramisu for tomorrow, then one or two G&T before bed. It' easter afterall.

Wherry is OH's favourite too, Topbird and one of mine.

Hello all. I'm all scrubbed and polished and ready for a drink myself. I had a cuppa before I went in the shower but I might go and see whats in the bar. My favourite beers are Old Speckled Hen, Black Sheep and Abbot T'Bird but I'll try most things. I have to admit I have never heard of Wherry. Unfortunately I haven't got any of those in.
BTW, thanks for the top tip about black labels. The blackbirds play 'pick-up-sticks' with my white labels!
Ruby, the ranunculus are very pretty and I know that they come in lots of different colours. It will be good if you get a nice mix from your new corms.
RosieBB I took your advice as I was quite seized up after my gardening today and the hot water in the shower helped.
Busy I have just pricked out seedlings of catmint from the freebie packet I got from the Cats Protection League. I will make sure the young plants are pretty robust before I plant them out as Lily will enjoy having a munch and a roll.
Ante, I would love some tiramisu if you can send some down the tunnel with Al tomorrow.

Evening all.  Had a great day at the Safari Park yesterday although it was very busy and we were all shattered at the end of the day.
Spent most of today in the garden potted on the begonias that survived their passage through Royal Mail.  I also did quite a bit of weeding and tidying.  We've booked a slot at the council tip on Tues so we will be able to get rid of quite a bit of junk that we seem to have accumulated.
Had a delivery of calibrachoa arrive today from luckily they were in good condition and hopefully I'll get them potted up tomorrow before I go over to Firstborn's for lunch.
Have read back and everyone seems to have been very busy.  Hope poorly peeps feel better.
    Happy Easter everyone.
