Good morning all, we had rain overnight but dry now, cloudy but still pleasant so hoping to eat lunch in the garden. Got some of my children and grandchildren coming for Italian food.
Morning everyone, It's another sunny morning. We're going to have a lazy day in the garden. I'll probably do some pottering when I see something needing sorted 😉 Hope you get the sun back @Ladybird4 Have a lovely day with your family @debs64 Happy Easter Monday everyone.

Rain overnight and a bit damp this morning but the garden could probably do with it so can't complain. I'm hoping to go out and watch some football later but I'll have to see how quickly folk respond and give me what I need to get done for the day. Officially, I'm not working
Yesterday was a bit of a write-off. Nice weather so I'd hoped to get a decent stint in the garden. I did give the new power washer a test. It works but we need a longer hosepipe and all the fittings we have (outside of what came with the power washer) seem to be faulty/rusty/leaking. I placed a click and collect order from B&Q and got a text and e-mail telling me it was ready and to come and collect. When I got there, there was a 'Store Closed' sign at the car park entrance. There were folk who looked like staff milling around and the doors were open. I guessed that the click and collect side of things was still operational so I drove up to a young lady sitting at a desk just outside the entrance and wound down my window. "We're closed" she said, helpfully After confirming that B&Q were employing her to sit there telling everybody who drove past the 'Store Closed' sign that the store was closed, I left. It's a bit of a drive home so I tried to find somewhere open on the way that I could pick up a couple of things we've run out of. Despite being declared 'Open' online, they were all shut until I got to a 'sco Express that was heaving! Serves me right really but at least I eventually arrived home with something for my troubles.
I'm very confused at B&Qs policies. Fair enough they had to be closed yesterday. I'm sure they'd rather be open on a long bank holiday weekend but, no doubt, the law is an ass in that respect. However, why have staff in to, presumably, go round the store getting click and collect orders ready so that they could invite customers to come and collect orders that they couldn't collect (because they were also paying somebody to sit there all day telling anybody who couldn't read a sign that they were shut!). Baffling. I'm afraid that a large amount of grumpiness may spew forth upon whoever has the misfortune to serve me when I actually get to collect my order.
Sorry folks - that turned into a curmudgeon thread post
Grump away @Biglad! But I'm really surprised that anywhere would be open on Easter Sunday, except churches. Most of France is shut on ordinary Sundays, apart from smaller food shops.
I'm going to spray the box hedge again. It was showing signs of blight after last year's gloomy summer, but is now growing new leaves.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Busy when I was small there were no shops open on a Sunday apart from the local off licences. I was brought up in a Methodist family . We were not allowed to play out on a Sunday .Nor were we allowed to play boisterous games indoors .Reading was the only occupation allowed .
One Sunday when I was about seven years old me and my cousin P escaped the house while the family were talking .We climbed on walls and up the lower branches of a tree . We had a great time for about an hour . Then we heard auntie J calling us .By the time we got back in the house we were filthy our dresses were worse for wear and we were in big trouble .On top of that it was Whitsunday and we had our new clothes on .We we’re sent straight to bed and not allowed the special treat (trifle).Never forgotten that .
