    There are many beautiful white/cream roses and I think every garden should have some, @andrewnewton. I don't grow Desdemona, but it's popular on here. I have a couple of others (Boule de Neige, Tranquility (though the buds of that one look yellowish, which you might not want)) and will probably get some different ones later this year. They go with everything IMO. My favourite sites for window shopping are Peter Beales, Style, Ck Jones and Trevor White. Austin's site doesn't agree with my phone, fortunately for my bank balance.

    Re: that gorgeous Versigny- may I ask where you got it, please? Is it sold here? I googled it and can't find anything but German sites.

    Thank you, everyone.
    @Tack The standard is indeed Harlow Carr, I’ve only pruned lightly this year, so it’s quite big.
    @Mr. Vine Eye The iris is Black Beauty. It’s in its third year, so returning reliably in my garden.
    @Fire I am working on a bin enclosure, but I’ve got too many ideas and I can’t make up my mind. Instead I’ve decided to make the step plant shelf you see at the very beginning of the video.

    Bins are part of our gardens - they are a fact of living.

    I agree. Still, we can find ways to integrate them better. I’m thinking of a structure with a living roof...

    Mary delany has buds on the end of the flexible canes it’s putting out, I haven’t trained any yet as they’re not quite long enough, should I remove the buds or will they be ok?

    Thank you, @zugenie. That’s Bajazzo, I’ve bought it because it made think of the first opera I’ve seen I Pagliacci. It is quite an operatic rose!

    @zugenie
    ..no need to remove the buds there, just enjoy when it flowers..

    @ciaranmcgrenera
    .. we haven't forgotten your question and will get back more tomorrow, but meantime you might consider 'Malvern Hills' for your wall, it will stretch to 20 feet in time.. Mr Vine has nice photos of it, I appear to have lost mine..
    A photo of said wall and some idea of colours you like would help further maybe..?
