Many of the regulars give great advice to all sorts of newcomers. They are exceptionally experienced, quite a few being professional gardeners and many are very forward thinking. Yours is a very unhelpful comment.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
We also had the thunderstorms @Marlorena and the most lightning I’ve ever seen! Didn’t get many thunder rumbles but I was up watching it anyway because I love thunderstorms Â
A resounding success I’d say @Marlorena. I still remember the look of horror on my SIL’s face six years ago when I said I didn’t like roses - associating them with horribly formal municipal beds full of diseased, bare-legged HTs. A chance purchase of a DA rose for my OH changed all that and this thread went on to feed my obsession!
@murasaki that’s fabulous, I can’t wait for my new Buff Beauty to start producing blooms like yours. Do you grow it as a large shrub or a climber?
I am so grateful for @Marlorena's rose threads. I bought my first rose in May '19 and these threads have accompanied, encouraged and informed something that gives me huge pleasure.
I really fancy Royal Celebration now, this thread again doing what it does, lovely.
We got a very short storm last night with only 3mm of rain, it was really disappointing.
I try not to show too many roses but at the moment this requires huge restraint. My first pot pet was Charles DarwinUtopiaClockwise from top left; Strawberry Hill, Susan William-Ellis, ORA and Boscobel. All first bloomsEast end of patioEglantyne
..thanks everyone, gorgeous roses again today.. Â
@Nollie ..thanks.. and I know what you mean about 'Golden Beauty', although I get a darker colour here [maybe it's your camera?], and it's totally healthy and floriferous, but for some reason I'm not in love with it, I should be though because it's almost faultless..
@zugenie ..I'm so pleased you've got 'Royal Celebration'. I once spoke to the breeder about this rose - Tom Carruth, on another forum and he told me about it, I kept meaning to get one myself but never got around to it. I love the colour.
..superbly grown roses @tack  you grow Austins so well in those pots.. I'm not sure I've seen a better 'Eglantyne'.. ..my enclosure this morning.. 'Mme. Lauriol de Barny' half flush..[actually about 1/3rd]

Looked like a flower bud, but then now there are leaves above the petals.

I have told Boule de Neige I don't mind if it never blooms as its buds are beautiful enough.
@AlliumPurpleSensation I love your rope swags, so graceful.
Oh no, another purple for me to lust after @Eustace! I look forward to seeing more of your Royal Celebration.
All modern roses today..
The wonderful Julia Child just starting:
Golden Beauty, healthy with big blooms but it just doesn’t light my fire:
Love Song just opening, characteristic green streaks on the outer guard petals:
Heidi Klum, limping on but never fulfilled it’s first year promise:
Palais Biron, now this really speaks to me, old rose romance with a divine fragrance:
