Can I just say I'm thrilled to see so many members both here and abroad, joining in and growing so many lovely roses, in variety and with such quality.  When I started these rose threads a few years ago, nobody here talked about roses much, and when they did get a mention, it was usually something derogatory. I set out to change that. I feel it's been a success..Â
@JessicaS I hope my LoS looks like yours when she grows up! Beautiful
@celcius_kkw one for you….. All my roses are first year. ORA is the first to flower and has the most buds. Not a wafty scent that I’ve noticed but lovely if you stick your nose in a bloom.
I’ve a little gap in a border….maybe Desdemona…. Â
'Arthur Bell'.. 'Buff Beauty' and 'ORA' in particular, all looking great..Â
We also got that storm last night, the lightening nearly scared me to death, I need a dark cupboard on such occasions, and the rain was sub-tropical but a welcome relief.. Now the garden looks lush if a touch overcrowded..Â
We too had overnight rain. I guess these are the late arrivals of April showers. Definitely good for the plants, though some of the rose blooms are looking downward rather than staying upright. Royal celebration
Blush noisette getting started. Queen of Sweden standing tall.
Munstead Wood - nice scent even in the rain. Red finesse (Korvillade) in its first year.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
