These have survived the 40° heat of the last week. Clockwise Sparkle, Ruby Wedding ( looking a bit more cerise than photo), red standard, and second flush of Celebration. Last year's cuttings are still alive, but wish the tags had survived so I'd know if they are Celebration or Blue for You How these petunia didn't frazzle sat in full sun I'll never know, the sweet peas sure did.
I ordered Emily Bronte but got sent the Albrighton Rambler, oops... I was totally confused as to why Emily was on a little cane obelisk when I first ripped open the box!Â
Bring me sunshine definitely getting that darker centre.. may be the weather? or will it improve with time.. (Photos unable to capture the colour difference)
Twilight zone.. was so fragrant today.. probably everything improving with age.. (Not a re-post.. They are two different flowers )Â
I'm back home after two weeks and everything is thriving. No deaths. Barkarole and Crimson Glory are on a second flush. Malvern is lookin happy. I will pull out the Doctor at the weekend. Two dahlias toppled over, but they should restake pretty well. So I'm happy.
I nipped into the GC briefly this morning since I was driving past. I quickly zoomed in on a bunch potted DAs that must have been remaindered from somewhere, they looked very last season with diseased foliage and weedy, shrunken compost. Roald Dahl, Tranquility, Princess Anne, Thomas a Becket and The Ancient Mariner there amongst others. Some in bloom and I would say it was nice to see them in the flesh but all blooms were tiny and bleached out in the sun. If I was not tempted by these sorry specimens at €29.50 a pop, nobody else will be!
You do wonder where the picker’s heads are at, hmm, Emily Bronte and a wigwamed Albrighton Rambler are kinda difficult to confuse 🤔
A few fresh from Nollie’s inferno..
Harlow Carr, morning sun only:
William Shakespeare 2000, holding it’s form well in shade:

Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Really impressed with DA's response when I rang- they were so lovely and immediately promised to send Emily, without asking to see proof, and yes let me keep the rambler, which does look stunning. And I even have right here an exceedingly ugly wall that needs covering, so this is a huge stroke of luck.
Twilight Zone and William Shakespeare 2000 are calling my name very, very loudly from those pics.
Yes, @Marlorena, I'm not convinced every gardener would be able to find a home for the Albrighton Rambler at short notice. Just glad it wasn't Kiftsgate, haha
I agree that Shakespeare and Twilight look fabulous.
Funny I did some HMF research on that rose too edhelka before noticing it was OOS on TCL. I've placed my order, mainly for Love Song but of course once you've paid for delivery you might as well make use of it...
Everything was brought on (or over) by the heat. Wildberry and Wollerton looking particularly good Quite a few pinks even if top left should be purple The Prince, England's Rose, Wild Rover and Ruby MellaThe rain keeps being promised and promise withdrawn. Gave in and watered crispy things in the borders. Also ordered another 25m of soaker hose.

Still @WhereAreMySecateurs doggie was on a mission this morning, so holes ready and waiting by the looks of it... mine used to do that..
'Twilight Zone' looking good today, in particular..
@cooldoc, that twilight zone is so beautiful, velvety, luxurious I can't find right adjective for it!
