Wasn’t so keen on the washed out Malvern segments.

Why shoot one of the shows in a weird way? Had they used a filter or a rubbish camera? 🤷🏽

I enjoyed the episode a lot but will give next week’s the swerve; others love house plants but I’m not fussed.

Two more instances of the sniffing cliché yesterday - the presenter talks about the virtues of the plant … pauses … cut to a close up of nose inside the flower … comments on the scent. At my age I really don’t need to be shown how to smell something.

I liked Nick Bailey’s piece on peonies very much but thought he was over egging it when extolling the virtues of the plants’ autumnal colours. In my garden the leaves are ragged and tatty by summer’s end.

I went to the Malvern Show on Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed the day.  There was plenty to see, do and buy and the backdrop of the Malvern Hills is wonderful.  I agree with @TheGreenMan about the weird filming for Gardeners World.  Not up to the usual standard for filming RHS shows.  I enjoyed the segments on peonies and Batsford.

For those who saw the piece about the Auriculas, a word of warning. That nursery is where I got the root aphids from, so unless they have cleaned up their plants since, be very wary.

I'm not sure what you mean by funny filming ? I've certainly noticed that since the long-term (23 years) gardeners world camera man retired the camera angles and movements in Longmeadow have been really odd. Even makes me feel seasick sometimes

Was that during lockdown Wilderbeast? I remember during that time Monty Don said that cameras had been set up and he was mostly doing the filming or rather on remote control. The camera work before then was immaculate.
I didn't watch last night's programme so can't comment on it.

@uff no the old cameraman retired after episode 2or 3 this year he has worked with Monty for longer than that. It's very noticeable that they are using different angles and shots and it's very wobbly

That's useful info, thank you. I assume being featured on GW does bump up sales a lot. I was looking to get prostate rosemary recently but apparently since Monty used it it was out of stock everywhere.

I am looking forward to this episode on catchup- both Adam and Arit have very pleasant personalities, and water planting is always interesting.

I noticed some of the shots around the show looked washed out, as though the colour had been bleached, but  thought it was just down to being tired after a long day and maybe my eyes were closing.
Off topic, in Carol Klein's last programme they had a shot taken by drone directly above her as she worked on one of her beds. It really made me feel as though l had vertigo.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a need to be a bit different when filming these days. If it ain't broke.....

I've noticed close-ups seem to be getting a lot closer on all kinds of programmes. Do we really need to examine the pores on faces?!

Whilst I'm ranting, deciding to show a shot of someone sitting in the crowd or an angry managing furiously chewing gum whilst play is going on, really gets on my ****. Action replay of a near miss whilst a goal is being scored :o

Back on GW, not an episode for me but I appreciate the variety on offer.
