The BBC just abandoned it and l think they were supposed to recycle as much as possible but l have a feeling the site was just left. Ten years ago it was turned into a veg growing site https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-19748299
I like Toby Buckland, although of course as with all presenters it's a matter of choice. I saw him at his Garden Fest a few years ago, and he was lovely. I thought the way the BBC made him the scapegoat was dreadful.

Plenty of viewers were happy to blame him too. ( and still do )
He took over when Monty left after a stroke @Uff, and the BBC decided to set up a brand new garden on the site of a disused rugby pitch in Birmingham. I think the idea was to appeal to new, younger gardeners possibly faced with a new build garden. It did remind me of the days of Geoff Hamilton when he built his various gardens at Barnsdale, but there didn't seem to be any cohesion. Things were planted and then just forgotten about with no follow-up advice (and l know that still happens !) The trouble was they seemed to forget about the more experienced gardeners and the whole thing was dumbed down with things like a "cool wall" like they had on Top Gear.
The viewing figures fell off a cliff, then Monty decided he was well enough to return as long as he could present the programme from his own garden at Longmeadow. Toby was dropped, although Joe Swift still popped up from time to time, and basically took the blame even though he was just doing pretty much what the producers wanted. I think l'm right in saying that he didn't reappear for a couple of years on GW, although l think he still appeared at GW Live. I did see him at Malvern during his time in the wilderness.
I like him too [Toby] and I think he was hard done by when he was the presenter. He has a nice manner, doesn't come across as full of himself, and gets his points across nicely. I think he would be good as the modern day equivalent of Geoff, if given the chance. I think there was an element of trying something new to attract younger folk too, but it didn't work, because the whole thing was disjointed. I'm afraid I'm in the disliking Carol Klein camp too, because I can't cope with her voice. It triggers all sorts of things with my brain and I have to turn the sound off. I have no problem with her undoubted knowledge, but her voice grates. I watched yesterday but with the subtitles
If you sow some sweet peas now @WhereAreMySecateurs, you can hopefully have some still flowering later in the summer/early autumn. I think we had a discussion recently about this too, but I can't remember the details. If you can give them a slightly shadier, cooler spot it helps, and keep feeding and watering well, you should manage some later flowers. Always worth trying. Ours are later to start here, but are still flowering well into October.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Maybe the Toby Buckland era was managed and produced by the same clowns who destroyed 'A Question of Sport'.
Regarding the viewers gardens videos, some of the early ones were quite interesting but any I've seen lately seem to have been created by people who thing they are one step down from Steven Spielberg! and so far up themselves they are likely to meet themselves on the way back down.
Thanks for the information AnniD. I remember MD having the stroke and think that period of time for us was spent treking about in the motorhome. Interesting to hear about it.

I woudn't say I dislike her..but I sort of know where your coming from. Again, purely my own view but I'd also like to see Christine Walkden & Bob Flowerdew feature more on GW. I often wonder why panellists on GQT don't appear very often (if at all) on GW ..and vice versa.

Oh that's horrible.
