    Afternoon all.

Cuppa outside just deciding what needs doing next.
SM trip on the day before Mother’s Day wasn’t my best ever plan.

I understand putting the displays of (scruffy, over-priced) flowers and cards at the entrance to shops (bottle-neck situation aside), but it’s must be horrible for those who don’t have a mum. I don’t like it much (and I’m a tuffy) so thoughts to those who find this weekend a bit sad.

Crumby news @Hostafan1 - I hope you both don’t feel poorly with “it”. Hope it goes away swiftly.

One of my favourite drummers has died - Taylor Hawkins from The Foo Fighters.
RIP you talented guy who brought rocking times to many 🤘🏼🥁🎤

There are a few companies now who send an email asking about whether to send Mother's Day marketing stuff, so I can roughly halve the amount I get. To be honest, marketing emails are irritating at any time to someone like me, who doesn't really do leisure shopping, but the relentless Mother's day stuff does get me down a bit.

Ho hum. The sun's shining still, visitors have gone home, it's all fine

I remember seeing them on Jools Holland and being stunned by his drumming.

Yes … a huge talent and a very sad loss. 😢

Afternoon folks,  Popped to Ashwoods this morning and came back with a pot of white Anemone Blanda and a Veronica.  Oh and some more seeds.  Not too big a dent in the bank balance.  Sat in the sun and enjoyed a cuppa.
Came home and spread 4 bags of manure.  Struggling a bit now but it had to be done and Hubby can't help.  Just another 7 to go.
Sorry to hear your news @Hostafan1 Hope you both recover quickly.

That's really poo @Hostafan1.  I do hope that neither of you suffer from it too much.

Good news on your OH @Busy-Lizzie.  Jealous of your hedgehog, haven't seen one in our garden for a few years now.

Back from the craft fair today.  Didn't sell much (unlike the Christmas one which was bonkers) but it was relatively quiet so I guess everyone was out in the sunshine enjoying themselves.  Also my card reader app had disappeared from my phone and I couldn't get it back, so I couldn't take card payments.  Grr.

Tired now - have saved GW so about to hook the laptop up to the tv and watch it with my feet up.

Afternoon all, I'm also putting my feet up with a cuppa @didyw after working in the garden for a few hours. Most of the weeding now been done, not sure whether to mulch anyway or wait until it rains again. Much excitement when I found three asparagus spears coming up, I'd prefer four as we'll have to fight each other for the odd one!

Not brilliant news @Hostafan1, but it may mean you get to have an enforced rest for a few days. My OH is okay and so far seems to have had a very mild dose, I'm still negative and very disappointed as I was convinced I'd caught it yesterday. I'd rather get it over with.
I can understand the hedgehog excitement  @Busy-Lizzie and good news OH's op can now go ahead, hope it will be very soon.

My OH was nodding his head when I read out your comment about wine and cheese, then cheese and wine @tui34, he's much the same, I usually have to ration the cheese.

    Enjoy the weekend all.

Sounds like an article I read years ago, where the writer described their mother finishing a meal with some cheese, ‘ to take away the taste of pudding’ but equally having some pudding ‘ to take away the taste of the cheese’!
Win / win either way, as long as you like cheese and pudding, or indeed, cheese and wine!
