Hello all, nice to come across generous people @Hostafan1. Enjoy your time with Pixel @Pat E. That must be a very big sliding door @Dovefromabove, good job you're secure for the night. Good job your man didn't break his fingers. Pity about the door latch @Didyw. Hope you get it sorted. We loved swwetcorn when we first planted it but subsequent crops weren't quite so good, @Tui34, probably different weather conditions. Everybody seems to be having repair woes lately. I need to get hold of a furniture restorer because a biggish spring has broken in my recliner and it's a bit wobbly. I also need somebody to powerwash all the paving, it's too much for me to do any more. Reckon that will cost a bomb. I now ache all over as I've been digging out last year's leaf mould - lovely stuff, and putting it on the main flower bed. Hard work as the leafmould bins are up in the back garden and the flower bed is in the front - different levels mean lots of steps to heave my garden cart up and down. I also dug up a Penstemon, gorgeous 'Plum Jerkin' I think and a big clump of snowdrops that was right underneath it. Considering I also did my usual walk of 1.50 miles this morning and some washing which dried beautifully outside in the sunshine, think I've earned a drink tonight. Just waiting for my DIL to arrive and then we'll open her favourite Picpoul de pinet!
Hats off to you @Lizzie27 - I got tired just reading it all! Enjoy your wine. And I envy you your leaf mould. I just never seem to get myself out to gather leaves at the right time. Not enough generated by my garden (though I do leave any that fall on the beds to just stay there). I have a few bags of fine bark to put on the beds but it's hard work. Bags too heavy to lift at first so into a bucket it goes then onto the bed until bag light enough to lift and tip straight onto the bed. One bag done - 4 to go.
Evening all, Just got in from Nanny duty. Gabriel and Jonah were good, apart from Jonah asking me ' when people get really old like you Nanny, why do their teeth go a bit yellow? A beautiful day here warm and sunny, would have made a good gardening day. Not going to get much done tomorrow either as Hubby has to go for a check up on his eyes. Has to be there for 8.45 and could be there until 4.30 in the afternoon. A mixed day for you then @Hostafan1 Sounds like everyone has been busy today.
I'm afraid oysters would make me heave. We all voted for fish and chips, sacrilege I know with a Picpoul but it went down a treat. DIL bought another bottle with her but so far we've resisted the impulse to open the second. Waitrose have the wine on special offer so just may get some more in!
Actually @didyw, the leafmould comes from the Council's six big trees outside our boundary - the leaves all drop down inside our garden usually. Three birches and two Norwegian maples - makes beautiful leaf mould so we've now got two bins on the go.
Funny you should say that @Yviestevie, one of my teeth is distinctly not pearly white any more.
6 hours at the Allotments today, I'm going to suffer tomorrow, sadly I didn't get anywhere near as much done as I need to. It's frightening how much I have slowed down in the last 2 years 🙁
Me too, @Allotment Boy, I have to limit myself to a couple of hours at a time, then a rest, then some more work. The spirit is willing but the body - not!

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
@Lizzie27 I sprayed all the paving in Norfolk with Patio Magic. I'll be interested to see if it does what it says on the bottle.
I've weeded the new Jewel Bed and planted 3 more plants in it. 7 more to plant tomorrow.

6 hours is a long time though.
