Congratulations @Hostafan1, something nice to look forward to.
Evening all, another lovely day so still working in the garden whilst this weather lasts. Finished mulching the main flower bed, cut down the old Jap.Anemone canes and carefully sprayed weedkiller on the new leaves. Don't suppose that will actually kill it but live in hope. In the afternoon I pruned my Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Goshiki' as it was getting too big in the rather small raised bed it's in. Tried raising the crown to allow more light in and think it's okay now.
Ominously OH started coughing overnight and has a 'throat'. Could be just a cold or could be Covid of course. Tested negative so far but I fear the worst and will ask him to take another tomorrow. He's relegated to the spare bedroom tonight so I can get a better night's sleep. Next week's hotel break might have to be cancelled either way which is a great shame.
@Lizzie27 I hope your OH proves to have just a bad cold and not something 'nasty'. When do you actually go away, fingers crossed you will still be able to make it? Have been busy doing a stint of tidying and trimming up, mind you with my lack of 'leg power' and shortness of breath (long covid sufferer here - or whatever they call it) it was more a case of trim a bit then rest in my chair in the sun to plan the next move lol! Tomorrow I will try for the rest of the front garden/yard and then move on to the back garden, hopefully to get it all done while this lovely weather continues. This sudden warmth seems to have shot everything into leaf and as we have a load of huge tubs and pots full of various plants around the yard, I realised yesterday that they really needed watering after the long dry spell. So out came the hose from the shed and I gave them all a good watering while I personally soaked up some vitamin D. Will try to post a picture of a small area of the yard in front of our little barn, taken last summer. If it doesn't work then I'll just say good night everyone and sleep tight. ps got the picture but cant work out how to turn it - sorry.
I’ve decided it really must be autumn after all. The Colchicum are flowering. Very pretty.
I think I’m not popular at the moment. Pixel and I went out to pick todays strawberries and on the way back, she shot in front of me and got her foot trodden on. 🙄. Ooh aah! anyway she’s now on the veranda railing in a tight hunch. I might have open the door and invite her n for breakfast. 😁
Beautiful here, but the sunshine on the windows is highlighting an urgent chore is necessary.
Enjoying the spring bulbs at the moment, they look lovely and smell lovely too. I really must plant more in September, I know, I say this every year.
Have to begin the icing for the birthday cake today and really must catch up with this week's paperwork, trying to stay on top of it, but it's not easy, especially with gardening tasks vying for my time, tasks I would be much happier to do.
Hope Pixel doesn't sulk at you @Pat E, cats do manage to get under your feet don't they.
Good day to all. Must get on.

Good morning all 😊 ☕️ a slight frost on the roofs here this morning … but a beautiful sunrise is seeing it off, and the magnolia across the way looks glorious 😊
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
There is a frost here in West Dordogne, but the sun is out.
I like stone houses @AnnaB. Mine is stone too but more golden like Cotswold limestone. I would have turned your photo but my laptop is at the repairers being transfered onto a new one. I don"t know how on my phone.
I'll finish weeding the raspberries today then the terrace bed.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Beautiful day again, lovely to be able to have coffee outside.
