Oh no, @Hostafan1, I do feel for you both. Sending hugs. I hope it isn't for long.

  • Evening all,

Oh @Hostafan1, what a blow! This Covid is not going away is it. Hugs to you both. I've been watching the news across the world and I m not feeling confident that we aren't going to end up with more restrictions in force again soon.

Glad to hear you're home @Busy-Lizzie, hopefully not too long before OH gets there, it's certainly dragged on for you both.

Heard today one of my customers has died suddenly. He was the president of our local Lion's Club and only last week was organising collections for Ukraine. Not old, not ill, a really nice man, such a shock.

Our meeting this morning with the mairie went well, although one lady was an embarrassing pest. The president of the association had to apologise for her, no idea why people behave so badly in such circumstances. Such a shame because the maire is so welcoming and inclusive to the ex pat community.

Right, fish pie to dish up, have a good evening all.

After numerous calls, I can visit on alternative days.
I'll go tomorrow and explain as best I can to Hubby, but he'll probably NOT understand what I'm telling him.
I'm a very low risk visitor. I get up in the morning and test, then visit and come home to an empty house. I don't really come into contact with anyone else.
I'll see what sort of reception I get when I arrive but I've been told " Nobody is going to block your access if you arrive to visit"

    Good evening all.

I'm so sorry for you @Hostafan1  We are on the up with positive cases here too but the government has waivered Covid passes and masks in outdoor and public places.  Glad you're feeling better @Busy-Lizzie but it is tiring - all this tummy upset.  Drink plenty of water. @Dovefromabove  My favourite is braised kidneys - the leftovers being on toast!!

Went to Lidl this morning - about 75% wearing masks.

Grey days - spits of rain, rain but no wind this time.  Temperature around12 -ish.  I have sown a few seeds but am holding off.  Don't want them to rot in damp cold soil.  I only have a corrugated plastic house - no heating and lots of air holes!!  But once the sn is on it, it gets really hot.  The conservatory is about the same.

    A pleasant evening to everyone.

Hi folks, had a busy few days looking after grandchildren, art classes and gardening.
Sorry to hear about the home @Hostafan1 it's awful when you can't visit.
Hope the new neighbours are nice @punkdoc.  We didn't get any sand from the Sahara but we did get an awful day of heavy rain on Wednesday.  Hoping to get some seeds sown over the weekend.
Hope you feel better soon BL

Oh thank goodness for small mercies @Hostafan1 … although I suspect they may find their lives much easier if you continue to visit and care for your dear hubby as you’ve been doing … he really does resist being cared for by the staff doesn’t he?  ((More Big Hugs from us)) xx

Hugs to @Hostafan1 I hope you will be allowed in to see your OH tomorrow when you visit. @Busy-Lizzie glad that you are safely home again. Take it easy for a few days and get plenty of rest. Have you managed to catch sight of your new neighbours yet @punkdoc , I hope their moving day went smoothly for them.
Sorry, minds gone blank, enjoy your evening everyone and lets hope for another fine day tomorrow.

Another GW subscriber here @chicky (well the family buy it as a present, for me.)
Hope you can visit ok @Hostafan1,  this wretched virus is not letting up. Typical of my luck I finally got a hospital appointment today but it was in central London and meant I had to use the underground,  train down wasn't too bad, but the one back at 4ish was rammed. Glad I got myself an FFP2 mask,  fingers crossed.

    Evening.

I accept that nursing homes will be extremely anxious about COVID, but I really hope that compassion will prevail when making visiting rules. Sorry to hear that you have a new worry @Hostafan1 - look after yourself.

Gorgeous Worm moon and a starry sky tonight. Spring Equinox on Sunday so we can officially see that start of longer days.

    Night all.
