Good morning Ruby. I hope all goes well with Bruno's check up (N.B. Hazel - not Jasper ) this afternoon. Luckily the wind wasn't too strong last night so no rattling tiles. If the weather stays like this I might go to Canasta this afternoon. Plenty of time to make that decision. Good to hear that your snow has gone.

  • Morning everyone,
Had another power cut last night, so couldn't say get on here to chat and say goodnight. Bit of a nuisance, but but at least we don't have water problems. Some areas nearby have either no water at all or not much pressure.Β
Sunny here this morning, but still chilly.
Happy birthday to @Busy-Lizzie OH πŸŽ‰πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸ₯‚πŸŽ‰
@Topbird glad you had a lovely day and enjoyed Adam Frost talk. Shame no cake though.
@Ladybird4 glad too you enjoyed your day. Hope friends daughter get better soon.
@Chivetalking hope your son is starting to feel better and that you and OH are ok.
@Rubee hope Brunos check up goes well this afternoon
@bluebellsintherain you're well organised with birthday gifts for your dad. Remember where you hide them though πŸ˜‰
I'm off to SM this morning. Don't need very much this week, just a fresh fruit and a few other bits.Β
Hope everyone has a good day, take care if you have snow and need to go out.
    See you later.Β

    Morning all.

Thank you for the birthday wishes for OH. Lovely cake, LB.

I am taking him out to lunch in a restaurant that has a very good chef. OH's niece has sent him a copy of The Times for the day he was born.

  • @Songbird-1 We are unfortunately, but at least it's not for too long. Some areas still haven't had any power since last Friday's storm. They must be so very cold. The floods in Shropshire are awful too,Β  dreadful damage to some people's homes.πŸ˜“
Sorry you had another bad night's sleep. Have a restful day.Β
@Busy-Lizzie enjoy lunch with OH. Such a lovely gift from his niece.Β  We bought and kept a newspaper when our boys were born. My boys did the same when their children were born.Β
Must get a wriggle on, see you all later.

Morning all. More paintbrush wielding today followed by SM run and a visit to try to find some stakes to brace the fence.

BL - Happy Birthday to C - hope you have a lovely meal. Were you in France for his b'day last year?

Hope all goes well for Bruno Rubee

SGL - I think there are also a few properties in this area that have been without power for a week. To be fair, the power companies have offered them free hotel accommodation and / or hot meal deliveries so they should be warm. Still a massive pain though, especially if they are the same people who were without power for 2 weeks when we had similar problems about 6 years ago.

Enjoy canasta if you venture forth LB!

  • Busy many happy returns to oh today. Lily I’m glad you have some power back. Β Hazel I hope you feel more awake before your hair appmt. Β  I’ve just finished baking some bread. Β Chive I hope your son had a better night.

Yes @Topbird, we were both in France this time last year, then he went back to Norfolk as he didn't want to use all his Brexit allowance. I stayed in France to deal with builders for my new house, then I got stuck there because of Covid restrictions. Let' hope that doesn't happen again.

I'm going back to France on 12th March. Daughter 2 needs me to look after her smallest as her child minder is on a course. Then I'll bring my car back as if OH has his op I will need to drive and, thanks to Brexit, car insurance is very expensive for someone who lives in Europe. I had been a named driver for his car before.

    Morning all,

Snow in the wee small hours and thunder at 5am here. However, all is calm and clear now. Off to plant my first 'proper' trees shortly - a couple of apple trees in sister's garden.

    Have a good day all!
