Good morning all. I fell asleep on the sofa. Lily it sounds like you had a lovely outing with poppets yesterday. I hope you’re all rested. Ante good to hear you’re okay and hope the weather warms up. LB my knees have gone into submission after constant kneeding from Alfie. Chive I hope you’re not too stiff this morning. Time for tea.
Morning all - a lovely sunny day here but quite a heavy frost first thing. Will probably go outside when it's warmed up a degree or so. Might have to be careful what I do though. Did a hard cut back of a very large eleagnus yesterday but forgot to put my elbow / arm brace on. Can feel a few twinges today. Stoopid, stoopid, stoopid.
Shall I say hello for @Rubee? She did a quick post on another random thread to say Hi and she has a busy morning. I suspect it was intended for here🙂
@Ante30 - hope everything is ok for you. The pictures from Ukraine remind me very much of events in Bosnia and Croatia nearly 30 years ago (even though it's a completely different conflict). I hope it has not been too unsettling for you and those you care about.
LB - are you seeing your rellies today? MIL went to a valuations day at her village hall about 2 weeks ago. They weren't interested in a watch but gave her £200 for the old large(ish) tennis trophy she took along. She insists it is silver plate and not silver but I was very surprised by how much she got for it. Really hope she knows her markings but it's too late now...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Glorious day here but I'm off to running-around-an-artificial-field duties shortly so nothing will get done in the garden. Hot soak required before and after to try and ease the old joints and muscles
Have a good day and, for those who have it, make the most of the sunshine.
The sun might be shining, the sky may be blue but it is Baltic out there. I pottered in the garage and then nipped out to put some petrol in my car and I am frozen. In to hug a mug and thaw out. I am going to put Lily's TV on as it seems perfect for that sort of activity.
Ante, good to see you today. I do hope that the message to you was not an unwelcome one. Brilliant news about your old tomato seeds. Nature is a wonderful thing.
T'Bird, I didn't visit rellies this morning as I had some stuff I was desperate to finish getting ready for the new growing season - my kitchen is filled with dozens of newly washed plant pots -started yesterday finished this morning.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Dove and SGL this is a pic of the front cover of the 20 page brochure:
Apparently, on closer inspection, a chap called David Hakeney, who is on that show with David (I've been tangoed) Dickinson is one of the dealers who will be present.
Thank you both very much for the advice though.
I have an account with my local auction house. It doesn't deal with much high end stuff but prior to Covid I have been able to sell things for myself, my family and my friends and made some healthy profits selling there. I am glad to have the comfort of being able to used fixed reserve prices too. I will be starting up selling there again fairly soon - at the moment all the auctions are being done online.
p.s. good to see Hazel and know it was gardening stuff that kept her away!

I'll say no more @Ladybird4 other than reputation is no guarantee of anything ... and in this case I would advise ... 'Seller Beware'. .... However if you frequent auction rooms etc you probably have a pretty fair idea of value. Good luck and enjoy.

Good Afternoon, Sunny but chilly 🥶 LB It would be interesting to see the antiques bought along to the roadshow, hope you find it helpful, Debs Glad you had an easy day at work yesterday you don’t get many of those, hope the day won’t be too sad today, Ante Sorry to hear things have been on your mind and the awful weather too, I too hope that the message you received was not an unkind one. Good that the tomato seeds have started growing, SGL It’s a lovely bright day, hope you get your wet things dry there’s a nice breeze at the moment, Hazel I’m glad you were just busy in the garden yesterday, Topbird Go easy on the pruning with your poor shoulder, Bluebells Hope you’ve not been on the sofa all night long, Alfie keeping you company, Rubee I hope OH is improving since his injections, Busy Fingers crossed for your OH and his lung function tested this week 🤞 Sorry to say my luck has run out and I’ve tested positive for Covid ☹️ A PCR test confirmed this for me, I don’t feel unwell just a bit heady. We have been so fortunate until now, OH is still negative at the moment!

Good luck for the Roadshow LB, I hope you get a good deal.
No plans for today. It's sunny and cold so far.
OH has mown the top lawn. It's not very big. He can manage the lawnmower. He's still waiting for his hip replacement, lung function tests this week.
