    Afternoon all.

Thank you all for condolences. I came home half an hour ago, and I feel like a solid block of ice. Before funeral I was with Max in a walk. Now I need a tea, with small addition of rum, just to warm me a bit 😉.

@Ante30 enjoy your tea (and rum) hope it warms you up, and hope too that the funeral wasn’t too difficult.
Our garden bin collection doesn’t start until 31st March and it’s almost full. I pruned back an old buddleia really hard and I think I may need to consider a bonfire as the branches can’t be recycled, too thick.
Only had an hour in the garden after work, it’s too cold! Dry though and lots of new growth everywhere which is encouraging.

Evening all. Good news about your OH Ruby! Fingers crossed that after Thursday you won't need to worry about your boiler again for a long while.
Chive, I hope the defrosting of the freezer went smoothly and that you are not faced with a mountain of food tonight.
T'Bird, Dad left the RAF in 1970. His last home posting was RAF Harrogate (long gone now) as Dad's position was with Supply Command and Logistics You are right and I never really thought about it but his uniforms will be very old now. Well done on all those hours in the garden. I managed to get my clemmies planted, some more tidying up done and more seeds pricked out today but I, too, found it rather chilly outside. I went across to help Jack sort out his central heating control and his bird bath was frozen over. He is still suffering pain from his shingles but aside from that he is doing well and was even talking about growing more tomatoes this year.
RosieBB, I hope that the cramp soon wore off. My legs have been playing up today and my hands went into dead spider mode when I was rooting about in the garden soil.
Thanks for the information Busy. Looking after the small people will be a change for you next week.
Ante, I hope that the rum helped to warm you up a little.
Debs, I noticed a lot of new growth whilst I was in the garden and you are right, it is very uplifting.

p.s. Debs, your buddleja must have had monster growth if you are going to have to burn it. My council do accept branches no larger than 6 cm diameter but I use any large branches on my log pile at the end of the garden - home for all my creepy crawlies. It gradually rots down to make a lovely mulch.

  • LB yes the cramp has worn off now, just took me a little longer once called.  Why don’t you soak your feet in a bowl with Epsom salts it will be comforting after your gardening.  You can have that ahh feeling.
  • Ante you’ll be glad to be home and warmer.  I hope the rum helped and that you can take a deep breath and unwind after a difficult day.

Hazel, my father is well, thank you for asking. He doesn't do much, maybe it's just a phase. He had a vertebrae operation few months ago, maybe you recall because I mentioned it. In a week he will go to the spa for 25 days, and there he will have few more treatments and exercises.
I'll sign out for tonight and go direct to the bed. This monday was a bit too much for me.

Have a nice evening and see you all tomorrow.

  • We have some clothes pods in the sm car park so I’m thinking of decanting some items I won’t wear anymore there.  Rubees taken some of hers but I think they want you to put them in small bags as it’s designed like a chip range in the lid that’s curved and you can only add a few at a time.  I’ve been washing by hand as the hot water keeps cutting out despite plumber visits so I’ve been boiling a kettle and adding some cool.  Not ideal but clothes never really dirty.  I’ll contact the plumber again.  It never worked without glitches since the new boiler was fitted.  No probs before that.

    Evening everyone,
Topbird Brrr yes it was chilly! you did well to spend that time outside, but you sound much happier with how the garden looks now.
LB Freezer is all done, it’s an under counter one so not a huge capacity, but everything has gone back in much easier without the excess frost. Glad you got to plant out your Clemmies, sorry to hear Jack is still suffering with his shingles pain that’s been sometime now,
Bluebells Hope you are feeling ok now after the sudden cramp earlier, I’ve seen those clothes pods in our ‘Sco carpark it’s a good idea. Sorry to hear about your hot water cutting out, hope you can get the plumber to fix that for you,
Hazel Handy to book a slot at your refuse centre, ours always has such a long queue. I did use a plastic spatula to help loosen some of the ice once it was thawing, what do you do to yours?
Busy I hope all goes well for your OH tomorrow with his lung consultant, hopefully the next appointment he has come through will be for his operation 🤞
Ante It’s been a long tiring day for you i hope you get a good nights rest,
Debs Do any of your neighbours have a log store? they might appreciate your thick stems for a log burner just a thought,
    Have a nice evening everyone.
