It's been a lovely spring day, quite warm. We aren't that far from Topbird. I topped up the tubs with compost and sprayed the box hedge with fungicide again, but there probably isn't a cure. Not all of it is blighted though - yet.

We went to another thatched pub for a cider, pretty countryside. Blossom is coming out.

One more day here, then back to France. I hope my new daffodils have come up. I hope I can get into my house. My handyman was trying to lock the front door shutter and the key broke. It had been welded to make it longer.

Good evening all. I have been busy cooking today. Made a beef rogan josh - by that I mean I chucked all the prepped beef in the slow cooker and poured on a sauce out of the jar. It smells delicious now. I took advantage of some reduced beef in 'sco so I will probably freeze this once it cools. I cooked chicken and stuffing to eat today - with veg. Pottered about - slowly as my right leg was giving me some trouble. I overdid it in the garden the other day when the wind was rather chilly.
RosieBB, the boiler sounds a bit temperamental. It is as Hazel says - awkward!
Hazel I have sown ALL those seeds you mentioned as well as aubrieta, arabis and alyssum (the golden one)
Ante, I hope that the soil soon thaws out so that you can work it again. That is my favourite picture too as I have one of those growing in my garden and I can't wait until it flowers again.
Busy I see more and more blossom coming out as I drive to 'sco. It is a very uplifting sight. I do hope that you are not locked out when you get home on Saturday.

  • LB the rogan josh will be delicious no doubt.  I’m sorry to hear your legs playing you up.  Put your legs up on a night or whenever the opportunity arrives.  If it’s arthritis I can empathise.  Busy wishing you a good journey and someone available to assist if entry difficult on arrival.  My daffodils are out, always lovely to see.  Chive I hope you’ve enjoyed some sunshine today.  Lily I had a short walk today to stretch my legs, quite breezy.

Thank you for the tip RosieBB. I think I got a bit over enthusiastic in the garden but I do have arthritis in my knees.
Ante, I am looking forward to GW as well. I always feel that Winter is over when it starts up again. I am not sure that I have seen the latest Murdoch Mystery so no spoilers please

Evening Everyone, It has been a lovely bright day so I too spent some time in the garden this afternoon,
Bluebells I’m pleased you are ok and had enjoyed a lay in this morning, I hope the boiler behaves itself and delivers hot water and heating without messing about,
LB How annoying to forget to use the coupon in the SM, hope it’s one that will still be valid the next time you go. Your slow cooked curry sounds nice, a handy meal to freeze down, I hope your leg will be less painful after a nights rest,
Hazel I hope things have been better today, nice to get outside sow some seeds and plant your acer, Hope OHs tooth was not feeling sore,
Topbird Words getting round about your hospitality, now 4 of the neighbours cats have been to visit 😊 Nice to get the grass cut and see the garden looking trim,
Ante I’m glad everything was ok at the cottage on your visit today, I love all the pictures you’ve posted on your thread absolutely wonderful to see those Spring flowers,
Busy A cider in a thatched pub sounds very enjoyable, hope your door lock can be sorted out when you return to France,
SGL Hope you are happy with your haircut and have been enjoying some time outside,
Great to hear that Chey is doing well and has enjoyed a holiday in Spain, that must have been a welcome break for him.
    Goodnight All, see you tomorrow.

Thanks Chive. I'm hoping my locked shutter can be sorted out before I get to France or won't be able to get in 😲
