I use eBay for almost everything, rarely used amazon and use it even less now. I shop through a charity raising site and ebay pay more that amazon. If you ever should get a problem, eBay sort it out for you, although not as quick as amazon does.

Just got my buildings/contents renewal invite through - 50% up on last year. What?!
Straight onto a compare site, and of the prices quoted there, only one was less than my current renewal offer. The rest were insanely high. Apparently part of the reason for the hike in general is fraudulent claims (and also then inflation) - given that my house isn't massive, my £100 difference this year, over the insured 20 million households would seem probably 'average'. Knock off 10% for inflation and that's still close to £2 billion (is that right? My maths ain't that bright...). How many people put in fraudulent claims? I don't think I've claimed on household insurance in my life.
Just renewed our car insurance last week, and it was way higher than last year, despite our 14 year No claims bonus. However, it was still considerably cheaper than all the quotes I got on line. Our broker told me that some of the renewal quotes she had coming through were up to double last years.
Our car is due for a service, I have been saying to OH that the notice on the dash is due to come up, and to look when he turns the ignition on. He kept saying no notice yet. When I went out this morning I switched on and up it came "service in 7 days" it does make me wonder as it comes up at least two weeks before and I haven't driven in the last couple of weeks.
