@Lizzie27 - can you not write a recorded delivery letter explaining that since your initial meeting you have had no news and no replies to your calls and that you consider this to be discourteous and unprofessional.   You can then either give her a fixed, short period in which to reply and keep your custom or to decline your business and thus lose any right to fees because of non-delivery of services or simply say that her lack of respose cancels her right to any fees.

Word it as you like but she needs to know you're dissatisfied and not prepared to pay for nothing.

Our experience of the legal profession is also that they are quick to take the money, then exceeding slow to act after that.  We are trying to pursue a personal injury claim through our home insurance.  When we contacted the insurers legal people they were very quick to get the forms out to us.  Once completed and returned we had an e-mail saying somebody would be in touch within 7 working days.  15 working days later I called to ask why we hadn't been contacted and was told they were waiting for a response from the other party.  I did say that I wasn't happy that I hadn't been contacted to inform me of the delay.  Thinking things were are least in progress I waited another month but still heard nothing.  I called again and this time spoke to a lady who described her role as a 'Fee earner'.  She checked and said the claim hadn't even been allocated to anybody, she would speak to her manager the next day and somebody would get back to me.
Two weeks later I had still heard nothing so called again and was told the claim had been allocated and the person would call me back.  Later that day I received another e-mail stating they needed more information.  I provided that the same day and again have heard nothing since.  It is now 2 1/2 months since we sent the original papers in to them and have been informed that the other party has 3 1/2 months in which to respond.  I will be amazed if the other party can even recall the incident now!

Chemist will now only do repeat prescriptions through their app which has to be synched with NHS app. It took me 20 minutes to do my husband's and I'm going to have to do it all over again for myself.
I'm a little au fait with technology but what if I wasn't?

I would try to find another chemist who actually has an interest in the people they are serving.  Not always possible I know.  Alternatively look at the possibility of requesting a repeat prescription through you GPs website.  We can do that without having to register with any app and it takes about 2 minutes.

It's a chain. They've taken over every pharmacy local pharmacy. New clueless staff who have to rummage to find your bag of medication.

I have just used some of the 'new' packaging beef mince from Sainsbury's - the product is a bit ground rather than minced - BUt - what was the point in re-packaging? The old tray was recyclable, the new vacuum pack film isn't. It must be me. Surely if plastic is recycled it's ok'ish - but to change packaging so it isn't recyclable seems insane to me.

That's the real problem though. The actual recycling rate for plastic in England is less than 50% and even then there are questions about it's use after recycling. If Sainsburies have saved 450 tons/year of plastic by changing packaging do we assume that 225 tons or more were previously not being recycled? Or do we assume that the tray was considered superfluous anyway since the previous packaging also had recyclable plastic wrap along with the tray? The order of preference has always been Reduce - Reuse - Recycle so it's better not to make the stuff in the first instance. Waitrose will chuck mince into a Tupperware container for you but I'm always wary of how to deal with that hygienically.

I've bought that mince. It's like a horrible paste. I buy my mince elsewhere now.

Poor delivery drivers. One just came flying up the road and stopped at the house opposite, ran to the door, rang the bell and knocked then stood there dancing up and down like a small child dying for a wee. No one answered so he tried the door handle, found it was open, lobbed the parcel through the door and ran back to the van. He then reversed at high speed, nearly hit someone coming up the road and had to speed back here to let them past, listen to them berate him and point out he can turn around safely a few yards further up the road, then repeat the reverse manoeuvre and speed off at the 20mph limit.
Conversely the post man just delivered a book to me that was posted on the 2nd and has taken all that time to travel 127miles from the sender to me. That's about 10 miles a day which would have been slow going back in the horse and carriage days.

Royal Mail has just been fined an enormous amount as they failed their first and second Delivery targets. First and second class means nothing nowadays.
